Zips for rest of Elegant Autumn

Since I've been falling behind, I'm going to go ahead and post the rest of Elegant Autumn today. Can't promise a Chriustmas kit but will post now and then with something small - brushes, masks, etc. No more posts this week so also want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Stay safe and be thankful for all you have. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fyt7joh79e21pbr/ws_ElegantAutumn_7.zip?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/3kca82njvp03a8r/ws_ElegantAutumn_8.zip?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/tcyktzn9749tad5/ws_ElegantAutumn_9.zip?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/yja2r917spwrwc0/ws_ElegantAutumn_10.zip?dl=0

It's Saturday? & new freebie

Physical therapy twice a week tires me out even more. Where is that rush you are supposed to get from endorphins released during exercise? I can see the muscles in my calves looking more normal but it doesn't seem to be doing anything for my strength or energy. saw my primary doc this week and he asked if I wanted him to go ahead and schedule the nerve conduction test on my legs. Of course I do! When I told him I was switching to a local neorologist and already have a teleconference scheduled for next month he was surprised. He will send a referral to that office for the testing. Trying to do a bit more around the house which is a shambles right now but I exhaust easiily. I did finish up a Fall kit for you that I will distribute gradualy as usual. I don't think Im going to manage a Christmas kit. The new kit is called Autumn elegance and while a generally fall kit, could surely be used for Thanksgiving photos. Here are the previews which don't show everything because it jut became too crowded.
Preview of just papers:

Almost forgot - more State Fair

What a week! Learned that repairs to our foundation are going to cost a little over $30,000.00 and work won't begin until after Christmas. This house was built in the 1950s and code was dfferent then. What we learned is that over time the center beam had "bananaed," or curved which is what is causing the house to shake when large heavy trucks go by and floors to be less than level. Trying to straighten it isn't possible and trying to level the house would cause the corners of the house to lift and, quite possible, damage the floors. What has to be done is place steel beams to either side of that beam and on joists that aren't properly supporting areas of weight. If that sounds like mish-mash, I understand. But we saw the photos and the diagrams of what will be done. The guy said that although they can't level the floors, in time the house should settle onto the new supports gradually. Anyway, it is a must do. Friday we picked up our grand-daughter and hubby taught her to make his pumpkin cake. She loved the experience and the cake, which we sen half of home with her. Then this morning, before taking her home, we all went to IHop so she could have a Mr. Mummy pancake.

State Fair freebie

By the time you read this, I will be in the warm, salt treated pool doing physical therapy. Assuming nothing else happens, of course. At home my husband will be talking with a man coming out to inspect the foundation. Early Monday morning I woke to cries of "Help!" Heart pounding I followed the sound to the kitchen where my husband was standing in a pool of hot coffee and shattered glass. Especially bad as he insists upon walking around with bare feet. He had been drying a heavy Corningware glass bowl when it slipped and hit the coffee carafe. The bowl didn't break but the 3/4 full carafe sure did. Took us a while to clean up the big mess. What was he most worried about? Where the spare carafe was! The man can't do without his coffee. Tuesday I went to lunch with my group, taking along my husband's handmade aspen wood cane. Big chunky thing made for big man. But I was a bit shaky walking and worried about being able to get up from chair at Olive Garden. Lunch went well with a moritorium on politics since previous time (I wasn't there) there had been quite a ruckus. After lunch I had a good long talk with my friend, Steph, and benefitted much from that. Wednesday I spent rangling an appointment with my gastroenterologist whose schedule, I'd been told, was super booked. I'd been calling back and forth, leaving messages with her nurse about the problems I'm having (yes, everything is happening at once) and today was finally given an appointment for Friday morning. And that's my week so far. I'm happy to hear you are enjoying State Fair. And I really appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers during this crazy health crisis. More of State Fair freebie

What's a State Fair, Carnivale, Festival without delcious "junk" food. One much favored item is funnel cakes, which I totally forgot to include. Oops! So more backgrounds and lots of food today.
Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d1ghxx75fsbijjy/ws_StateFair_2.zip?dl=0 Gloomy outside today which matches my mood. Just when I thought I was beginning to see a little improvement, I had another accident. Went grocery shopping in high spirits yesterday with plans for things I'd do when I got home. Didn't go that way. I just can't manage to get up from a seated position without something to hold onto or push up from. I'll save a lengthy, embarassing story and just say I required help from paramedics to get up from the floor. They wanted to take me to ER but other than bruised knees and ego, some sweat and tears, I had no injury and knew there wasn't anything the ER would do for me. Once up, with my shopping cart for support, I finished shopping, checked out and accepted help from an employee to load stuff into my car. Did not accomplish another thing. I'm typing this up on Sunday. With the help of my husband who chopped all the veggies for me, I'll make a hearty beef stew today. Will at least do some picking up. Thank you all for kind comments and wishes for better health,

New Freebie- State Fair

Let's end the week with something new & colorful. This time of year - before Covid that is - there used to be all sorts of Fall festivals, State Fairs, and such. Thinking of the fun children & adults had at these events inspired this kit, State Fair. Of course, I haven't covered all the rides, amusements and goodies but I've tried to give you a fair amount of each. There won't be a preview for each zip just an overall preview (Which doesn't show everything). There are 16 papers and 44 elements. For the most part, each zip will include both papers & elements, but one zip is just a few papers that are large sized. In short, each zip will be a State Fair themed surprise. Today zip 1:

A little something

I know I've been gone a long while. Had my first (& I pray only) bout of diverticulous and was on 2 antibiotics. My doc wasn't impressed with MRI results. Said the good news is that no tumor was shown on my spine and I don't have significant narrowing of spine. Still having trouble with weakness etc. Now I am going to physical therapy to see if it is just a matter of deconditioning. First day in the gym for evaluation and the PT guy (owner) was concerned. Simple exercises were wearing me out & in one case causing more pain. He decided to put me back into aqua therapy to see how much that heps. Thursday he was my instructer and it went pretty well. So next week I will have traction to see if it help my neck and then back to pool on Thursday. Halloween is fast approaching and while I had no intention of doing another Halloween kit, I managed to pack up a few things for the store for $1 items. Thought you might like these papers I put in the store:

The rest of Play Cars freebie

***Note: Links for Pretty Poppies will expire 9/30. Links for Play Cars are good until 10/15. Yesterday had a nice but brief vist from son & DIL. They are finally getting a break from overtime at work (for him), drama of applying for a new position (her), and working on those estate settlements. They stopped in on their way to spend a few days on the Outer Banks, going to enjoy some peace and quiet, rest & renew. They brought me an early Chritmas gift - a Dyson cordless vacuum! They knew I'd been struggling with my old, heavy, corded vac because of my fibro etc. Hubby installed it today (the charger part, that is). There are so few outlets in this old (1950s) house that we needed up putting it in the small front bath. The only other option was the hallway but then someone would be bumping into it. After the kids left, I made what was supposed to be a copycat of Outback's potato soup. I haven't made any since my neice was living with us soem years ago. At that time even my husband had eaten it and loved it. Since I've had an iffy stomach this past week, I thought it might be soothing. But I could not find the recipe I used before. Went through looing at several on line and chose one that sounded right. The only change I made was to half the recipe. It was absolutely horrible! Tonight we are going to order Philly steak subs from a local place we've used for years. Here is the rest of Play Cars:

Don't know where week has gone! Pretty Poppies freebie

I thought I'd posted on Tuesday but apparently not and don't know why. I'm in a sort of muddle right now. Just exhausted all the time. Saw pulmonologist yesterday and despite feeling short of breath with slightest exertion, my lungs are fine. So many things need doing here but I simply can't find the energy. Tomorrow is husband's 70th birthday. Had planned to take him out for dinner but he has decided to use the ravioli maker kit I gave him. He wants to make ravioli and have grand-daughter over to have dinner with us on his b'day. Today we have:

X-ray results in too and to me it didn't sound much different than what I already knew but radiologist suggested my doc send me for MRI so have that scheduled for 10/2. Taking my ne heart med but can't tell if anything is different. More poppies today:

Late again

2 days behind with posts. Turned out that the cut off valves under sink were source of leaks, not anything Kenneth had failed to do. Stayed busy trying to mop up water under sink and all over kitchen floor until very nice young man from Norfolk Plumbing arrived. He explained that when cut off valves aren't used for long time the interior seals etc disintegrate. So when you cut them off and back on, as when replacing faucet, the vales begin to leak. It was worse because neither my husband or I could get under sink to try turning them off, tightening as much as possible. I finally did crawl under and tightened them in off position, slowing leaks little but I was unable to stand up. The weakness in my legs is progressing, I've stumbled, had a couple of near fainting spells and on fall.

So Thursday I called my doctor and got worked in. He had no trouble recognizing that I am very weak. He also noted a rapid heartbeat. Had an EKG in office and was diagnosed with tachycardia and put on medication. Lot of blood work was taken and was also sent for x-rays of my neck to see if there might be a pinched nerve. By the time I got home I was exhausted and went to bed. Friday started the mediation and went to hospital for x-rays. It's probably something simple but I feel so out of it.

I know tomorrow is time for another post but I have an appointment and don't want to wait until after to post as I might be too tired.

More of Pretty Poppies

A little news from my world. First, the sink. My friend's son who installed the new faucet didn't do anything wrong. By next morning we had a kitchen floor covered in water. We'd called the guy who installed the faucet a couple times and left messages with no reply but now something had to be done right away so we called a plumbing service. The young man who came out was so friendly. He took a quick look, said we had 2 leaks but not to worry he could fix it in a few minutes. Actually told me to go have a seat and rest. Turned out that the valves were leaking. It seems that if you don't use the valves for a long time, the interior pieces disintegrate. He said when Kenneth cut them the valves off to do the installation and later cut them back on they had gone kaput. It really didn't take the plumber long to rebuild the valves and dry up all the water. He even offered to put the stuff back under the sink for me! That's service.

Second, I've been extremely fatigued and it had gotten worse so saw doctor today. Had EKG, lots of blood work, script for neck x-ray, and will be going to PT. He said my lower body is very weak so he wants targeted exercises to see if that improves. Also learned I have tacycardia and will be starting medication to try to bring heart rate down.

Today I have some frames for you:

Water under sink & freebie

Had trouble with old kitchen faucet so bought new one & yesterday a friend's son installed it for us. All seemed well until I tried to put back stuff under sink today and discovered we've got a leak somewhere. Such is life. Doesn't help that I' going through some kind of period of exhaustion - don't know why.

New kit freebie - Pretty Poppies

This is a rather large kit in bright sunset colors. Sure hope you like poppies because there are a lot of them! I also added some daisies, fern, and baby's breath so you can make your own arrangements. Since I got it all together I decided to package it up in zips of around 30 mg each like I would in a store. (A few are less.) I've got 11 zips consisting of 2 zips for a total of 16 papers. The other 9 zips are various elements. Haven't counted how many. So this is how I'll do it this time. Instead of giving you zips of 2 papers = 2 or more elements, I just going to post one of the 11 zips I've packed up.
Here is the overall preview, which is very crowded:
I also made separate previews of papers and elements:

Sunflowers freebie

Monday, a friend suffering from lung cancer finished her therapy & rang the bell. She had surgery, chemo, then radiation. Tuesday, she ventured out to meet our group for lunch. So nice to see Debbie up and around though she is still quite weak, of course. The governor has changed some of the rules about dining in. Now it's not just masks when you enter a restaurant, lots of extra sanitation, paper menus (to be thrown away) and masks on all employees. Now when customers enter, they must keep their masks on until they have a drink or food in front of them and when they finish eating or drinking, even if waiting for one of their party to finish up, masks have to go back on. If a restaurant is caught not following the rules, they lose their license. Still, it's nice to be able to get together at all.

First, I must apologize for the error I made in listing the expiration date for links of Sunflower kit. Lost Track of time. I don't think I need to go into the "whys" since what I post is for free

Interesting Day & Sunflower freebie

It's been an interesting day so far. Around 1:00 am I was awakened by the phone. It was a call from local government saying saying there was a tornado warning for our area. Not long after the winds kicked up and it began to rain. We didn't get hit by the tornado here in Norfolk, but nearby Suffolk got a good bit of damage. For hours this morning I laid awake listening to hurricane winds and torrential rain. At time I thought the house would come apart but we are still here. The tree in the yard behind us, the one we always worry about, stayed in the ground but lost branches, dropping them into our back yard. Things cleared up about half an hour ago (it's now a little after 11:oo am). Just grateful all is well.

Today's zip:

Happy Saturday & new freebie

Last I checked, we had a hurricane off the east coast of the United States and it looked likely to impact Virginia. As it is, the last few days we have had intense storms with thunder and heavy downpours. Changes in barometric pressure sometimes trigger migraines and I've had a few lately. But today all was good until just a few minutes ago when pressure began to build.

I have a new kit for you called Sunflowers. Loads and loads of sunflowers lol. Here is the overall preview:

Free cherry Blossom papers

Have my grand-daughter staying with us this weekend. Friday, when my husband picked Larkin up, he took her fishing for the first time. He said she sort of enjoyed it but it was so hot out they didn't last long. Will try again on a cooler day. The child came with so much stuff this time! 3 dolls and their clothes, some stuffed animals, and a couple books. She has become better at entertaining herself for longer periods (thank heaven!). As part of our tea time lunch today, I introduced her to mini quiche. She liked the Quiche Lorraine better than the Quiche Florentine and loved the raspberry tea. After lunch she agreed to reading for 15-20 minutes but we ended up doing 35 minutes. So happy, as she used to hate to read.

Cherries anyone?

Another triple digit day. Thankfully, I need not go out except as far as down into the garage to do some laundry. That will be hot enough! Lately, I have been taking advantage of great sales on fresh, sweet cherries. I love them so. Straight from the refrigerator they are cool, refreshing and just sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Happened to remember I'd made a cherry themed kit some time ago and went looking for it. Took a while. Made it in 2010 when I was selling in a store and don't think I've ever shared it with you. So that's what I'm going to do starting today.

Last of Lets Go Fishing

Triple digit heat again today. Yesterday I had errands to run, starting with an appointment at 1:00 pm. 2 banks, and 3 grocery stores later, I was home, soaked to the skin, red in the face, over-heated and out of breath. Have been lazy today. It is crazy that some normal things are hard to find now. Lettuce, for instance (unless you find a rare small head of organic for over $2), Alfredo sauce (too hot to mess with making my own). The lettuce I kind of understand. In this heat, many people want nothing more than sandwiches and cold tea. That would satisfy me but my husband wants "real" meals most of the time. Not complaining as he is a great cook and has been doing most of the cooking lately.

So, here ends Let's Go Fishing:

Free Lets Go Fishing zip 8

AC got fixed Wednesday afternoon for a little under $900.00. Glad that is done. Several other big To-Dos ahead. We live on a main street and the house has settled and has some problems from huge heavy trucks going down the road so I've got to set up 2 appointments for estimates on foundation repair. Need new mattress but because of how everything is situated I've got to clear pathway into next room so they can manipulate the item once we buy it. And there is some estate planning to do.

Today is next to last Lets Go Fishing. *** Remember to download all zips before 7/30 when they will expire.
