Apologies & promised ATC element freebie

Sorry but between family duties and severe pain, I've been missing here. Going to have to get shoulder looked at as just when I think it's fine, it acts up again. The latest had pain radiating into my neck and down spine to mid-back with occasional pain down right arm. I've got no time or patience for it! Today have to go for re-check on COPD but quickly want to give you the promised ATC elements. Again done individually as pngs and also as a collage sheet for those who prefer to print out. For anyone who doesn't know, ATC stands for artist trading card - a little piece of art that is to be traded among artists and friends. Standard size is just like a baseball card - 2.5" x 3.5". The idea has been around for years and is still a fun thing to do. You can include your little piece of art with a card or letter to a friend, tuck into a lunch box, etc. etc.

Here is a quick example of a completed (simple) ATC:
(Yes I adjusted the color of elements to match up.)
And here are some elements for you:

Love Art Nouveau & a freebie

Despite the high pollen count, which is wrecking havoc with my head, I love the last few days we have had here in Norfolk. Warm and dry, not hot and humid, a bit breezy at times. Azalea festival time! Flowers and flowering trees everywhere blooming and making the world a prettier place. It made me think of one of my favorite art styles/design periods - Art Nouveau. Art Nouveau is known for it's flowing lines and interest in the natural world - plants, animals and so forth. So I looked in my stash and found some vintage Art Nouveau postcards and created some pretty flairs for you today. Having done so, I think I may just have to make some papers and a few elements in this style too; tomorrow will find me drawing a color swatch from today's flairs.

This is it . . . freebie

All good things ( I think this was?) must come to an end and we have come to the end of Bohemian Boudoir. Today you will meet Adara (means beautiful) another friend of Mirela's. Her zip includes a drapery treatment you've seen in the stacked papers, a flower and fern, a fossil, and some tiles spelling out "fate." I've also included a blank tile in case you want to create your own words. Just copy as many tiles as you need for the word, line them up as you'd like and type a letter on each. If you'd like a fancy font, there are many available for free on line. I do hope you have enjoyed this kit. I'm still working on a way for those who have to wait so long to more easily download it. I've combined papers and elements in zips of about 30MB each, a size most people can easily download, but there are about 10 zips of that size; I haven't had time yet to see if my free dropbox will allow me to load that much. Remember by 4/1 all zips of Bohemian Boudoir will be removed, so get it while you can.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/Dw8dFLrgba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_AdaraDecor.html? I''ve just discovered that this last zip with Adara does not appear in the combined zips I posted links for. You can find it here on new 4shared link. Sorry I am not able to load to dropbox at this time. Please remember that the combined zips at dropbox are only going to be available until Sunday. this last 4 shared link I'll leave up until Monday. Hope that works for everyone. http://www.4shared.com/zip/JkvhGDegce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_AdaraDecor.html?

Bohemian Boudoir freebie

By the time this posts it will be mid-week and almost the end of March! Where did the month go? Today you get some mystical supplies.
This zip includes a Turkish evil eye bead, which you will see these being worn many places around the globe. Currently, like the ancient Hamsa Hand (a Jewish symbol for the hand of God) or the Hand of Fatima Islamic) which celebrities have taken to wearing, it's another protective amulet, intended to protect the wearer from evil. There is also an "all-seeing eye," a palm reading card, the crystal ball, and a ouija board which Mirela would warn you not to use except with companions and then carefully. Maybe I should borrow Mirela's crystal ball and see what April is going to be like? I'm hoping it's a happy, healthy month for all. And I'd really like a Spring that lingers for more than a few days. No way I'm ready for Summer heat and humidity. http://www.4shared.com/zip/m5yiMZcOce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Mystical.html?

Meet Rawnie - a BB freebie

I think it's time you met Rawnie (her name means Lady), another of Mirela's friends. Can you guess what her favorite colors are? See the Tibetian singing bowl in the preview? Rawnie has been using it to help Mirela get in the proper mood for meditation. And she's showing off the wonderful sterling roses her boy friend just gave her.
Rawnie is waiting for you here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/7vdFPC44ce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_RawnieMore.html?

March Madness & Bohemian Boudoir freebie

I have never been athletic. I just wasn't coordinated enough for sports. And even though my paternal grandfather played minor league baseball and educated me about the game when I was young, I only watched the World Series when I was with him. Football doesn't interest me at all and there is little I watch during the Olympics (I do enjoy the ice dancing) but I can really get into men's college basketball. That I will watch on TV or go see in person. It's March Madness time now and I am happily filling in brackets along side my husband. Naturally, I was very excited the other night when my alma mater, Virginia Commonwealth University won the Atlantic 10 championship. My home town's Old Dominion University team isn't in the NCAA playoffs but just won the first round of the National Invitational Tournament and will play again tomorrow. Nearby Hamption University won their first game of the NCAA and will play again tomorrow against top rated Kentucky. I wish the Pirates luck. My VCU Rams play again tomorrow and I'm hoping coach, Shaka Smart, and our team got plenty of rest and are ready to come out and wreck Havoc! Another state team, the University of Virginia Cavaliers will be playing Friday. Time to make easy dinners and sit down and watch basketball!
Today just some miscellaneous items I put together from my folder of things to finish.
Some more posters for the room, a table with some wine, and so on. Link is: http://www.4shared.com/zip/Jgnk45Rmba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_miscellaneo.html? Hope you are having as much fun with this kit as I am.

More Bohemian Boudoir freebies

Another day just about over. Took my father to the eye doctor today and did some errands. Nothing much. When I was creating our gypsy figure earlier, I had fun playing around with differnt looks. I didn't name the gypsy/bohemian girl or the fortune teller but when I re-visited the figures I'd been playing with, I decided why not give our girl some friends? Bohemian 1, 2 ,3 etc became ineffective as a way of determining which I was setting up so I decided to name them all and looked up some Romi names. The fortune teller has now been named Esmeralda (emerald) just because it's a common name for Romi girls and the one used by Victor Hugo for the gypsy in his novel. I decided to consider her the older sister of our girl and named our girl Mirela, which means to admire. You might not care about any of this but I['m sharing the info anyway lol. The friend I'll be presenting tonight I named Nadya which means hope. Nadya prefers bright, cheerful colors and loves flowers. Here she is:

Errands to run & freebies to give

It's just past midnight here and I must be getting to bed but I've got running around to do once I wake up so thought I'd best post now. Bohemian Boudoir is coming to a close soon. Today I have more elements for you.
Thought we could use some floral accents to go with the blue in the color swatch. These hydrangea accents would work with the gold too. http://www.4shared.com/zip/wdbmLn-hce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Hydrangea.html? I also have a couple new journal cards for you. I guess you have noticed that for me, a journal card isn't just a little tag with a quote or some words like "Best Day!" For me a journal requires me to write something, to reflect. Most of the journal cards I make will prompt you to write something. Today's are certainly no exception. In fact, these are intended to make you think and use your imagination. The first, In Another Life, could be interpreted as asking you who you might have been in another life. Do you have any "memories" you can't account for? But the card could also be asking you if you could get a do-over what would that life be like? Please note that I don't intend to upset anyone by appearing to advocate the docterine of reincarnation. Not at all. But I am a person with a highly active imagination and I don't mind exploring where ever my imagination leads me. The background on that one is from a painting, which is why I left the painter's name in the corner. The other card asks you to think of someone, put that name on the butterfly and imagine what one thing you would change about that person. It might be something as simple as a haircut for your teen who is looking a little wild, or as complex as addressing a personality quirk. All up to you.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/G9xuTtWPba/SherryD_JournalCards_1314.html? If you have a suggestion for a journal card topic, please leave it in comments here on the blog. 4shared comments aren't always seen. Have a great day!

Bohemian Boudoir freebie

First, my thanks to all for birthday wishes and comments on Bohemian Boudoir. My son and his girlfriend came in Thursday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. They were using a new route, trusting GPS and got lost. After resting up a while and catching up on things, they took me to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. My husband had union meeting and it worked out well with us just getting in after he'd gotten home. The rest of the night went pretty quickly. We had planned to go see the movie Imitation Game on Friday but it wasn't showing until 9:30 p.m. and they needed to be on the road before then. I'd put country short ribs in the crock pot that morning so we were free to roam. Had brunch at IHop, checked out a new thrift store where Berekeley found a number of things to wear including a beautiful pastel green cashmire sweater that was like new. Did a little other shopping then came home to rest before dinner. By then the pain I've been having down my left side was much worse so I took some Tylenol and laid down for a nap while the children caught up with my husband. Berkeley had never eaten barbeque ribs before but they were a hit. All too soon it was evening and time for the kids to head out to Richmond where they would visit with Berekeley's mother and sister before going back to PA. PA is just too far away! Already miss my babies!
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and I'm part Irish so had to make something Celtic for you. Watch for a QP in the morning (I'll schedule tonight so I don't forget.) Meanwhile, I've got some frames for our on-going kit. The preview shows 2 but you will find 3 in the zip because I included an un-embellished version of the fushia frame.
Pick it up here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/CxUtqiJYce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_frames.html?
