Aspects of Autumn _ Thanksgiving freebies begin!

Checking my post list and checking it twice and it looks like I've got things covered to the end of the month. Wish I could say the same about all the other November things on my To-Do list! Anyway, thought I'd finish this month with some items themed for Thanksgiving. I pretty much stayed with the same colors as the rest of Aspects of Autumn. This way you will be able to intermingle the two. Today, we start with the papers. I'd thought about 4 themed papers would be enough but ended up expanding that to 10.

More Mermaid Musings - paper zip 2 freebie

Hope you are having a nice weekend. Today I have part 2 of the papers for the Mermaid Musings journal page kit.

Lunch was a combination of Filipino and traditional American food. Great lumpia! There was a vendor present who sold jewelry - mostly the bold sort of bling the Red Hat ladies favor. The big hit was a tiara which was snapped up quickly by one of the chapter Queens. (That's what we call the leader of a chapter). Lots of good chat and visiting. 3 people at my table won door prizes: our Queen, Mary and Cynthia won their choice of hats and I won a goodie bag that held a multi strand necklace of white beads. Normally at these events there is line dancing. Some danced to a few songs but it was a hot day and the A/C wasn't functioning properly so we gave it up quickly.

That's a group photo (Im hiding in the back). It was an occasion where we didn't have to wear our usual red and purple and could wear anything so long as we wore a hat. And here I am wearing my blues and greens:

I look so old! Overheated and tired but having fun. Don't know yet what is on tap for next month because it's Betty's turn to arrange the meeting and she is still in Florida. Got to run and put some dinner together. More soon.

Everything local has already been canceled for both today and Friday. this was news around 2pm on Wednesday! Weatherman is predicting the worst wonter storm of the season with significantly more snow than previous storms. So we watched and watched and about 10:30 when I looked out nothing was happening. Holiday Treat Day 2

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Day? My son and his girl came down from Pennsylvania and my father and his girlfriend came to dinner too. Fortunately, I was over my bout with shingles and hives but worn out. Still, all those good hugs I got from Jeremy and Berkeley were well worth pulling myself together for their visit. J & B were so sweet and did all the cleanup and food storage after dinner. They had also made a huge batch of Chex Party Mix (original recipe) and brought it along. Good snacking! The kids (they are't really but once someone's baby, they stay your "kids") aren't going to be here this Christmas as both are working so I just wish I'd been a little livelier while they were here, but they were tired too from long drive so it was okay. Weather here is bouncing badly again so Sunday was a waste for me due to sinus headache. At least I've managed to set my retirement sales, put up Day 1 of holiday treat and set this to go on Day 2. This time the treat is Personal Use so from Wonderland Scraps - 3 full size papers:

Trying to improve my flow - & freebie!

I've been participating in the free 21 day meditation challenge called Finding Your Flow. It is sponsered by Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey through Chopra Center. I'm enjoying it very much although I got a little behind due to illness. I'm trying to make up sessions by doing one in morning and another at night. It consists of a daily centering thought, a Sanskrit mantra, daily quotation, daily message recited by Oprah, and a meditation led by Deepak. After meditation, you can respond to thought provoking questions in the journal provided (yes, it's private). Meditation does become easier when you consistently practice and has many health benefits. Some of hte questions raised in the journal are especially fitting right now due to things happening to family members. I encourage everyone to go to the Chopra Center link and sign up for messages and updates about special events like this.

My bronchitis is easing up and I'm hoping to find more energy soon. I made a few things for the May CAK at DigiStyleDesigns; the theme is Mother's Day. Here are some previews:

Another weekend gone & a freebie

Here it is almost Monday again! The congestion in my lungs seems to be clearing - finally! But I didn't manage to do many of the things I wanted to. However, I did get two lengthy long distance phone calls. My brother, who lives in FL, called Friday and we had a good talk. He told me about his trip to CO to see his son and his wife. says he thinks he'll be able to get things settled at home inn a couple weeks, then will make that visit here. The other call was from my son, Jeremy. All is well in PA and they might come for a brief visit about mid May on their way to vacation on Outer Banks. Sure looking forward to that. I'm still trying to clean up hard drives and have made some good progress but that means I didn't create anything new today. However, here is the set of full size plaids:
