Easter BAK frrebies

I hope everyone is doing well. Watching news these nights reminds me too much of watching news during the time of the Vietnam war. Getting so tired of staying inside and not seeing anyone but my husband. We've done the census and the taxes. Lots of housework I could be doing but don't want to stir up too much dust while we are both having headaches and runny noses.

Today I have two zips of Easter goodies for you. First, the last of those Easter Plaid papers:

Also, some bunnies:

I'm going to start hosting a monthly ATC challenge at Just Art so I'm preparing for the April challenge.

Stay well!

Easter BAK freebie

It's good to hear how you are doing, my friends. It is rather like we are living in a sci-fi novel, isn't it? Physical closeness banned, businesses, schools, and all types of entertainment venues closed, restaurants limited to take out only. Scarcity of supplies and enforced limitations. Economies falling. And everywhere people ill and/or dying. Remember how it used to be said that the world would end in fire or ice? And more recently, that artificial intelligence would conquer humanity? Now we watch as viruses and bacteria - such simple life forms - dominate all. But enough doom and gloom. I find myself oddly calm, not depressed, but peaceful. Am I being stupid, or have I grown enough spiritually to rest assured God has a grand plan and, in time, all will be right again?

In truth, not much has changed for me and my husband. Sure, we miss going out for lunch with friends or having people in for a visit. We have some symptoms but they could simply be allergy related. And staying in isn't much of a burden since we're not out and about much anyway. Just going about our usual dull days, maybe napping a little more since we feel a little more fatigued. Basic household chores are getting done. Reading a little more when I might have wanted to go browsing in thrift stores. Having our grand-daughter stay where she is instead of having her here just now. Watching a little more Netflix.

I've done every single challenge on Just Art this month and even posted a new one myself about making ATCs. Got on a roll with those. Here are a couple of my challenge pieces.
Not my typical style, it required using a couple of masks.

This one was a Mystery Door challenge in which I was given 3 surrealistic photos to choose from to make a page. I chose one of a clock in green sea water and came up with this.

The ATC challenge I mentioned? I made these to send to my son and DIL who are in health care.

Now about today's freebie. For those who don't know, I once sold commercial use products under the trade name, Sher Scraps 4 CU. If you see that name, know it is me and if I give you something under that name, you may use the product commercially if you wish. I bring this up because I was going through my stash and came across some CU Easter papers I'd made and here they are:

More soon. Stay safe & healthy.

Easter_Build a Kit PU freebie series

Intended to post this yesterday but got interrupted.

Thank you for responses & comments. Kristi, good to hear about the family and hope they stay well. Your father sounds like mine - stubborn & determined to do his thing. My husband seems to be running a fever off and on (naturally, the battery went out in our thermometer) and I continue to have chills. Some coughing for both but no more shortness of breath than usual. Pollen is awful so that isn't helping. Gets in when we open door to check mail. Pretty much staying put other wise.

COVID-19, thoughts about Easter, new kit, etc

Weather here in Tidewater region of Virginia is bouncing around - in 80s yesterday, 40s today. And it's allergy season. None of that helpful at this time when the COVID-19 (corona virus) is rampant and everyone is on alert. Precautions are being taken everywhere and some drive-thru testing sites have been set up. But to use those, because testing supplies are in short supply, you must first contact your primary care doctor and to qualify for testing, you must have a fever and shortness-of-breath. However, studies are now showing that not everyone who has the virus will run a fever and in early stages may not have respiratory symptoms or only have those associated with common cold or allergy. Which means, there are many people with the virus who are undetected. Not repeating any of this to frighten any one, just commenting on the state of affairs. My hope is that all of my readers are safe and healthy.

I still have allergy, cold, whatever symptoms, so staying in. Quite fatigued too so not doing much. Have been thinking that Easter is almost upon us and perhaps I ought to be starting an Easter themed kit. However, in all honestly, I'm not particularly inspired to do a kit. So, throwing out an idea and need some feedback. I'm sure some of you were hoping for an Easter kit to scrap your children and grandchildren. So I'm thinking what I could easily do is share some of the vintage images I've collected for you to use as elements on your pages. You are likely to have plenty of papers on hand that would be suitable, or could be re-colored to go with the elements. There could be a day when I'd give you religious themed Easter images, another day featuring chicks, another featuring bunnies, another eggs and so forth. What do you think?

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Ever wonder why it is St. Paddy's day and not St. Patty's day? sure, outside of Ireland, you might see it referred to as St. Patty's Day but the Irish would say you are wrong? Why? The saints name is St. Patrick, right? Except in Ireland the traditional way of spelling "Patrick" is Padraic - therefore, Paddy not Patty.

I'm staying in just to be safe and not to alarm others. I have COPD so coughing is "normal.' But I've also got a sore throat and headache and runny nose. Probably just seasonal allergies since pollen count is high, but since those are also symptoms of Coronavirus and that is cause of alarm at present, I'm taking precautions. No bad respiratory issues but I feel unwell.

And that is why this is the only post this week. I'm giving you the three zips of "Shamrock Isle" all at one time. Happy St. Paddy's Day to you!

It's official & today's freebie

Went for 3 month breathing test at pulmonologist's today. Actually show improved function since December. Gave my P.A. The sweater set I crocheted for her baby girl due next month. Mothers always get lots of newborn size clothing - often more than their baby ever has a chance to wear, so I made the set for 12 month size and in variegated pastels. On the way home, I stopped at Food Lion and saw the newspaper headlines: "WHO Declares Corona Virus a Pandemic." As if people weren't panicking enough already.

Anyway, I'm behind on laundry so let me get your zip posted.

Saturday freebie

I;m dawdling today. Okay, nothing new about that lol. There's a ton of laundry to be done, couple of errands to run, and more thins that need doing than I can count. May I show y ou some art work I'm done lately in my art challenge group?
For this one, a mystery door challenge, the instructions were to use at least 4 blue papers. Here is what I came up with:
Another challenge was to use a mini kit by Rosie's Designs (available at e-scapeandscrap.net):

And now today's zip of Rose Garden

I'd mentioned that my friend, Wanda, had hip replacement surgery. Met Sandy on Midlothian last week and we shopped a little and had lunch. I'd have never found my way to Kelly's home in Amelia on my own so I followed Sandy that evening. Going down dark, twisting roads at night had me tense but we got there alright. Did some antiquing and such and lots of catching up but one of the days, coming back from Powhatan where we'd been shopping and heading to a "nearby" pizza place, I started feeling strange. A tall glass of Cola settled my stomach enough to manage 2 pieces of pizza, then it became clear that a migraine was coming on. Back to Kelly's where I spent hours in bed fighting it off. Bummer! Still so worth it to see my friends.

Have been resting up since coming home - that's my excuse. Now off to do some chores.

I have just made 5 attempts to correct link and kept getting error message. Reloaded zips and think all is okay now. Or not. Just tried to download and couldn't. No idea what is wrong. Anyone know why it doesn't show
"download"?
