All Souls Night by Myst Designs

My friend, Myst (Myst designs), has a lovely new seasonal kit out called All Souls Night. You can find all her stores listed here: As always, there are some wonderful backgrounds that have a painted feel. Elements are varied so that you can achieve lots of different looks. If you like Celtic themes, you will probably enjoy this layout. I wanted to showcase the background paper and the lovely Celtic miss so I decided to simply scrap an old verse about All Souls Night:
There are a lot of beautiful harvest type elements too and I thought these would combine well with a bit about the bonfires that are traditional on All Souls Night. Wouldn't this make a good cover page for an album of fall photos?
I also made a QP of the Lo above so you ight want to check Myst's blog to see if she is offering it as a freebie:

Vintage Halloween

Here's another cute Halloween kit from Myst Designs. This one has a vintage theme as you can see from the preview:
You can find the kit here: I scrapped some photos of my son, Jeremy and his girlfriend, Berkeley which I've just had on my digital photo frame until now. Here's one of Berkeley during a visit to Busch Gardens Halloscream:
Looks like she's trying to chomp down on that pumpkin, doesn't it? And this is Jeremy, a photo Berkeley took as he finished up carving a pumpkin:
I had several photos of this artistic effort so decided to make a page about pumpkin carving:
I know that so far this year he's done one pumpkin with a cat on it. (They love cats and have 5! Miss B is a vet tech and 2 of the 5 are rescues.) Can't wait to see what other carving Jeremy manages to get done this year.

Days Of Wine & Roses

My friend, Myst, of Myst Designs, has a lovely new kit out called Days Of Wine & Roses. Here is a preview:
You can find the kit here at any of these Myst stores: Just look at the luscious colors as shown in this page I'm calling Gentlemen's Club
And how about here? I scrapped a favorite photo of daughter-in-law, Rachel
You really should go and take a look at this kit!

Guilty Pleasures

It all started when I was researching wedding veils and hats of the 1920's for a novel I'm working on. You see, one of the characters. a young woman more interested in pursuing her law studies than in planning her wedding, unexpectedly falls in love with a vintage 1920's dress her father's girlfriend has offered to loan her to wear to the engagement party. The owner of the dress knows it is going to look splendid on the young woman but is as surprised as she when the girl, amazed at her appearance in the dress, says it's so beautiful it could be a wedding dress. Wide-eyed at the sudden inspiration, she turns to Dad's girlfriend to ask, "Could I wear this to be married in?" And there in a flash the girl has made the first decision about her wedding. It's something she's been putting off even while getting pressured by her future mother-in-law who, having had only one child, a male, is eager to plan the fantastic wedding she'd hoped to create for a daughter. Of course, the two - bride and future mother-in-law - have very different ideas. The bride really doesn't want to wear a veil but knows the groom's mother will insist on some sort of head covering so she enlists the help of father's girlfriend. For said girlfriend to be able to intelligently discuss the various options appropriate, I needed a little background. So I googled images for 1920's weddings and ended up on Pinterest. And followed one thread and then another . . . . I love vintage clothing and accessories and before long I had countless tabs open and was back and forth looking at the image collections. And, no, not all were from the 1920's. Embarrassed to say how many hours of a rainy day I wasted on this. I just wanted to warn you that Pinterest can be addictive. (Sigh)

A Little Halloween

Are you thinking ahead to Halloween? It will be here before long. I'm in the process of planning a Halloween tea party for my grand-daughter and recently had an opportunity to play with a new Halloween kit by Myst Designs. The kit is called A Little Halloween and is available at Myst's stores listed here:
That is the preview of the kit above. I made a couple layouts I'd like to show you:
The one above is my grandson Tyler and sister Inara getting ready to go out trick-or-treating a couple years back. The funky frame is not in the kit but was constructed using the tinsel strips, a glitter sheet, and bows that are included.
For the one above I used the pentagram element, enlarging it a little and cutting out sections to put photos in. Also made a little Halloween tag:

Beach Memories with At The Lighthouse

Hi! I blew the power source in my PC so was out of commission for awhile. Was just working with a new kit called At The Lighthouse by Myst Designs so thought I'd share a couple layouts with you. Here is a preview of the kit:
If you like what you see, you can find the kit by following this link: Here's my first page:
This background was so pretty - like a painting - I wanted to leave as much as possible exposed. Loved the frame too, so just added elements to the background, trying to keep the mood of a painting overall. That's my son in the photo.
The one above I'm calling OBX (Outer Banks Experience for those not familiar with North Carolina beaches). It's one of my son's favorite places to vacation. And, since Jeremy (son) does like to meet his friends In NC for parties, I made up this party invitation card front:
What do you think?
