You might want to check this:

Should be lots of sales. Didn't get a chance to put anything together before I leave today (4:45 am!) but check back with me on 19th. Should be home by then. Not going to coordinate a Halloween kit this year but I do plan to give you some papers and some elements of various types. I recieved a lot of designer resources and intend to use those to shortcut the process.

A little more Fall Frolic and a bit of health news

My little bit of personal stuff first. I am now off a daily medication for my COPD and lung capacity has improved to 80%. Also, the day before you will see this I went for my regular general check-up Got my flu shot and talked to my doctor about coming off some of my diabetes medication. All my last tests were good and my A1C 93 month average of blood sugar) has been consistent at 6.2. Since the idea is to stay below 7.0 and I'm doing that, doctor decreased my Januvia to half what I've been taking. In January more blood work will tell if I can come off Januvia all together and just take the Metformin. I want to get the amount of chemicals I have to take down as much as possible so I felt good about my progress. Still working on baby blanket and must say it is getting boring. It is a shell stitch pattern so easy to keep up with while watching TV. Think I'm about 1/2 through the main part of blanket. The border will be different stitches and added in a color suitable to baby's gender. Today as you read this I will be with my lunch group as we celebrate one of our members turning 80! She has stayed in good health and doesn't look that old. Lunch will be at Bahama Breeze per her choice. She loves their seafood chowder. And now here is nexr zip of Fall Frolic:

I'm going to schedule delivery of rest of this kit now and can add to those posts as time permits. I should let you know in advance that I will be off line 10/9-18 because I will be with a friend who is having surgery and won't have access to my computer and files. That sais, here is today's zip.

I know it has been a long time since I posted

but it has been a wicked Summer! One problem after another. A/C died during the worst of the heat and it turned out that there were problems with the very ceiling fans that would have helped (ex. bedroom). Had to get new A/C unit which involved time and money. Had an electrician out to work on ceiling fans which led to one being fixed and 3 replaced. Bought a new bed one with simple adjustability (raising head and foot to help hubby with swollen feet) and that necessitated getting an electrician to install an upgraded outlet. Maybe one day of peace then there was a plumbing problem. And so on. I did pretty well through all of this and finally got a few days away to visit with friends. Big help. Returning home I discovered that we were going to have a big Italian dinner to thank our neighbors who had helped us and also grandson and his wife. Lots of clean-up and cooking with husband doing most of the cooking since that's his thing. Not long after I went into a big fibro flare-up which I am just now getting over. Meanwhile my friend, Eileen has been ill and cant keep up her scrap store, Magnolia Gardens Scraps so she gave it over to a lovely lady in the UK she worked closely with, Lyn Lou. Lyn has revamped the store and renamed it Twisted Sisters Creatives. She asked me to stay on and I am scrambling to put together my monthly entries. But there is a plus side. The house is so comfprtable temperature wise and at the moment all is working. At the dinner grandson announced that he and his wife expect their first child mid April 2023 and we will be great-grandparents! Expect a gender reveal party next month. Currently am crocheting a white b aby blanket that I will add a color border to once we know baby's sex. While away I started crazy quilting again in hexagon shape blocks this time. Only 2 completed so far:
I was asked to join the launch team of an Australian mystery writer, Gabriel Farago. In return for honest reviews I get his ebooks for free. On visit to pulmonologist last week, my lung capacity showed improvement and I no longer take daily inhaler, just have an emergency inhaler in case I need it. Thank you all for your notes of concern. I'm sorry I coudn't replay sooner. I do have a little somehting for you, a Fall themed kit you will recieve in 5 zips, the first today:
That's the preview for today's zip. I don't have time to do an overall. Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/erstqb9kt8f8iis/FallFrolic_1.zip?dl=0

Almost done!

Today was lunch with my group and all but two were there. It's been a while since we had most of the group present. And the best thing is that there was no arguing! Other than that, things here have been pretty typical. I've been doing some research for a writing project, reading a lot, and completing challenges on Just Art. Summer heat and humidity is tough for me - makes me feel and act washed out but at least our A/C is still working. Hope everyone is doing well.

Of Italian Food & Coffee

Yesterday was lunch day with HRT retirees at YNOT Pizza. My husband's friends and former co-workers. I don't have much in common with any of them but go along with him. I tried the stuffed shells. Not bad but we make better at home. Theirs had loads of tiny garlic bits throughout and I'm not that big a fan of garlic - a little goes a long way for me. Brought home some left-overs which I had for lunch today. Not much going on here, which is a nice change. Seems I have a day when I'm feeling pretty good and get some things done that are needed. That feels good. Then my spine acts up and all I want to do is sleep the pain away, assuming I can get to sleep, that is. Today all I've done is go grocery shopping which wasn't too bad because the heat index was just at 82 and there was a slight breeze. But the store was busy and I managed to forget 2 items on my list that were important - milk and lunch meat. Oh well. And I need a new header! Of course, I have another zip of Need Coffee for you today:

Back with new kit

It's been a long time since I posted. The last couple of weeks have been a flurry of appointments, calls to try to get services, people in and out. computer problems. But at this point things are looking up. After much to do, we have finally been able to get the dishwasher fixed and for about half what a new one would have cost. Plus, I've been told that these older models clean better than the new ones. Guess that's something. My husband's computer crashed which is a big deal since he is no longer able to get out and do many of the things he used ot. He depends on the computer and the TV to entertain him and distract him from pain and depression. Short version of story" we had a guy in to look over the problem. Bought a new computer then had the lengthy process of having the tech transfer the old files to new PC. New PCs don't come with built in CD/DVD drives and my husband uses one frequently. Ordered an independent drive and had to wait for that to arrive. The tech guy was in and out over the last couple weeks attending to this and that. My husband was at my computer next to him checking on everything which meant I couldn't use my PC often. And it is older than husband's and bogging down. That's another problem to be dealt with in a while. Manged to get grandson to come by and take possession of the tiller since my husband can no longer garden. That freed up a lot of space in the garage. 3 times now a friend was supposed to come over and clean out the garage for pay. Three times he found excuses not to come. Oh well. Finally got a new doctor for medication management. Think it is going to work well. He did an intake interview on the phone but seems satisfied to continue my meds without change. Another hurdle down. I do have a new kit for all you coffee lovers, Need Coffee?

Think Spring a free PU kit in cool tones

This morning we will be waiting on Lowe's to deliver and install a new dishwasher. We have been in this house about 24 years so things are reaching the time to replace. Checked into repairs but repairs are almost more than replacement. Go figure. Also looking at having furnace & A/C unit replaced in next month or so and know we have one window on front of house that needs to be replaced as it seems to have lost its seal. Just some of the joys of home ownership. I have a small Spring kit for you that is in cool tones for the most part.

Tuesday freebie - Easter Joy

Had lunch with my friend, Steph, today at Keegan's Bar & Grill in Virginia Beach. It was supposed to be our group lunch but no one else made it. Four were out of town, don't know what was going on with the others. But I know this: we are taking Keegan's off our lunch list. They have traditional Irish food like Bangers & Mash (no thank you) and some usual stuff like sandwiches, burgers and chicken wings. Neither of us liked what we ordered. Steph's sandwich was tastelss, my burger tasted of a heavy addition of white pepper. Could have been some kind of seasoning mix but I could only mange half. Later this month we're going to a Mexican restaurant. Not too keen on that as I have to be careful what I eat but I'm sure there will be smething. Anyway, home now and tired. Weather took an upturn reaching almost 80 degrees today. Warning summer is just around the corner.

Back again with more Easter Joy

Kristi commented that the vintage elements reminded her of cards she received when she was a child and she is right on point! I located a bunch of vintage/retro holiday cards and extracted images from them, often re-coloring or painting and touching them up for elements. I think those old illustrations are so charming and hope you are enjoying them too.

More Easter Joy

Feels like I will never catch up! Laundry almost caught up but so many more chores to do. Still transcribing the notes I took during the seminar and need to write a thank-you note to the host. One of my lunch friends, who has had her former SIL living with her for some years now because otherwise he would be homeless, experienced a shock a few days ago. She went to check on him because he had been unusually quiet and hadn't been out of his room for a day or two and discovered he had died! Haven't finished but 3 of my monthly Just Art challenges and have mostly been trying to catch up there with responding to the work of others. But I'm slowly packing up Easter Joy. Have another zip for you today:

Finally - a new kit on the way to you!

So, I am in catch-up mode. Still have some pain but can function pretty well as long as I don't lift anything heavy (that includes a full gallon of milk!) or reach for anything higher than my shoulder. Here is what I've done in the last few days: worked on getting laundry under control again (pushing basket through the house and lowering it into garage by bumping it down the stairs lol), cooked dinner a couple times, started talking with a young woman who lost her job and is in need of money about taking over the cleaning of our bath and a half, and - here's the fun part - spent several days on-line in a writing seminar! I had forgotten I'd signed up but the host sent reminders. Blessings on Daniel David Wallace who offered a free option to his seminar and re-plays of sessions within twenty-four hours! On a fixed income, I wouldn't have taken money out of my budget for a ticket that would have given me more privledges such as a live workshop and lifetime access to all replays, but his free option was just right for me. I could re-play the morning sessions I'd missed due to my sleeping in and, although much of the information I was already aware of (I taught college composition for two and a half years), I learned a number of new and useful hacks to help with the novel I'm working on. Now that you know what I've been up to, let me tell you about Easter Joy, the new kit for you. With short spells at the computer most days, it has taken me longer than expected. Heavens, it is almost Easter! I haven't put together an overall preview, but do have a preview of all the papers:
And have a preview of today's zip:
You know my love of vintage, so expect to see a number of elements created from old greeting cards, postcards, etc. My intention is to get the whole kit out to you before or at least by Easter day. That said, be sure to stop by often and pic up new zips. *** Links for the kit will be active until last day of April. Brief note & freebie tomorrow. ( or later today if I can.)

I came across this short article about the tradition of dying eggs at Easter and thought some of you might be interested. https://blog.picsfordesign.com/node/390?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=aprils_lottery_results&utm_term=2022-04-06 Pain is improving but reaching and lifting still cause it to increase and I am stll trying to limit computer time because I tend to over extend the time and the positioning isn't optimal.

Quick post as I am past my limit on sitting up

First, thank you for well wishes! Improving but when I try to stay up too long pain lets me know it. Second, I wonder if any of you would be interested in becoming members of a creative team? What that means is you receive free kits in exchange for making layouts and posting them to galleries where you are allowed to give name of kit, designer, and store it is from. It can be a lot of fun but you must be dependable. If you take a free kit, you must follow through on showing off what you did with it as a way of advertising for the designer. If anyone might be interested, Magnolia Gardens Scraps is looking for some CT. See ad below for details.

Why I am MIA

Don't officially know what is happening to me but here is what is going on and why I can't stay at computer for long periods. After the incident with Penicillin I wrote about I began having pain in my right side. Thought maybe kidney stone so drank lots of water. It not only didn't improve but spread across my back to left. The night before my son was due home, I went to Patient First urgent care thinking perhaps I had a UTI although other than pain I had no other symptoms. Long story ther that started well enough but once I had vitals done and gave specimen and was put in a room, I was ignored. Nothing major going on at the facility. No broken bones or bloody messes coming in. After two hours I decided to take my pain home and write corporate about their poor treatment. That was Thursday night. Friday morning I went to Velocity Urgent Care where I was seen promptly. No signs of infection etc, doc thought muscular problem. Gave me muscle relaxer and anti-inflammatory. Saturday I could barely move and didn't have a great visit with son. Doc at Velocity had said if no improvement in a couple days go to hospital. So I did on Monday arriving just before 7am. Spent 7 hours on IV with morphine and Zofrane. Given different muscle relaxor and told to try Voltaren gel or lidocaine patch for pain and follow up with family doc. Gave it a week but had no improvement. Saw my Internist. He thinks the pain is coming from my spine and being referred along my side. New muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatory drugs, and Tramadol for pain. TOld to bed rest with heating pad and give meds a week. It's been about that now. I can straighten up a little more snd pain is a little bit better. Have to check in tomorrow and expect to be told to refill RXs and give it a little longer. Could be a number of things, doc said. Like pinched nerve, bad disc etc. Can't bear to sit at PC for long but I am working on something for you during my limited time.

Rotten Week & Small freebie

Nasty week so far. Monday developed problem with Penicillin. Tuesday back pain on right side and possible kidney stone. Drank lots of water. Wednesday pain in area of both kidneys - pretty bad. Today, trying to get ready for son's visit and pain whihc had gotten a little better, got worse. Went to Patient First and after 2 hours of mismanagement and no one seeming to know or care I was still in exam room, I left. Spring will be here soon. Thought you might like a few butterflies for your pages.

Running Late & freeie
