Sorry I wasn't able to post yesterday. We had an afternoon appointment to pre-plan and pre-pay for our cremations. Both the man we met with and my husband are talkers. There was a lot of conversation before we got into the planning. I had gone to the website and downloaded an information sheet about what they would ask and filled in my info. Printed a copy for my husband, but he didn't see any point in filling it out since the man would be asking us questions. Eventually we got it all set up and it will be one thing my son and grandson won't have to deal with when something happens to us. Had a few other errands and next thing I knew it was time to make dinner. I fixed up some chicken breasts to roast, made four-cheese rissoto, and snap beans. By the time dinner was over and everything cleared away, I was worn out so I never got back to finish up the zip for yesterday.
Today I met a couple friends and we went to see The Book Club. Fun movie for those of us over fourty. Actually, think 60 somethings. I won't tell you much but will say I liked Dianne Keeton's story line best. For that matter, I liked her guy, Andy Garcia, best while Madelyn preferred Don Johnson. Shirley thought all the guys looked good lol. We followed the movie up with any early dinner at Slotzsky's Deli and sat around and talked a long time. Since I knew hubby would be at Inara's softball game and had arranged to make/buy his own dinner, I dropped into Target to find a pair of yoga pants and a sports bra. Most of the athletic pants they carry are marked "Tight," which is not for me. Finally found a nice cotton blend pair that are more relaxed. Think those will be fine but the athletic bra probably isn't going to work out. One of those racer back pull over the head type; I think it is going to be too tight. While in Target I started to get overheated, sweaty, weak in legs. Couldn't be low blood sugar so not sure what was happening. Maybe oxygen diffusion too low? Got out of there and sat in car with A/C running, sipping cold drink for a few minutes before driving off. All seems fine now, just tired. Anyway, here is part 3.
Returning to her room to dress for the day, Larkin finds clothes already laid out on the bed. But they are not her ordinary play clothes and she knows her mother and grandmother are still asleep. Who left these things? Is there going to be a costume party Larkin didn't know about? She wonders because, you see, what she has found waiting for her are clothes for a princess! Now Papa does call her Lil' Princess and she did dress up as a princess on Halloween but this isn't her costume, and that isn't the tiara Nonna bought her. Still, there must be a reason these things are here, so she gets dressed.

Oops! late on freebie
Just about to head to bed when I realized I hadn't posted for Tuesday and now it's Wednesday! Tuesday I caught up with my friend, Mary, and we went to a movie, did a little shopping and had dinner out. Saw The Commuter with Liam Neeson. Action packed! Headed out to Hobby Lobby then did soup and salad at Olive Garden. After I took Mary home, spent rest of the evening with my husband.
Tuesday freebie is a couple borders and an element:

Midweek and more Christmas Princess freebie
My doctor was delighted with the fruitcake gift yesterday. He is such a kind hearted person, I was happy to make him smile. Did a couple quick errands then came home to get hubby and off we went to Star Wars. He really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was okay but a little strange and I think I understand what some reviewers have said about it being less like the book series and more a fandom thing. Still, good entertainment. Sat through about 30 minutes of previews though and none looked like something I'd want to see. But on to the free kit.
Today we have zip 3:

Star Wars? & Christmas Princess freebie
I'll be delivering a fruit cake today to one of my doctors and after the visit, my husband wants to go see the new Star Wars movie. I've been seeing and hearing reports that suggest it isn't so good but he really wants to see it so we will go. Tomorrow a friend is due in from North Carolina and I hope to catch up with her and Mary and go to lunch. It would be a welcome change of pace.
Today we have zip two of Christmas Princess:

Day out and freebie
Today I took time off from Dad matters to spend time with my husband. We went to see Tom Cruise's movie American Made. It was enjoyable. Afterwards we picked up some pepperoni bread at Glory's Bakery. Today my brother started tackling Dad's garage. Dad used to be so fastidious about it, everything in it's place and he hasn't been working in the garage for some time now due to health issues so I would have expected it to be mostly orderly. Not so. My brother said he brought in a shovel to clear the floor! He has been sorting out hand tools and power tools etc. all day. We talked about having a yard sale of the tool stuff he doesn't want. Tomorrow I will go back over, finish going through remaining photos, discuss yard sale idea, and do some more sorting and moving. Have a bunch of stuff ready to be loaded into my car and taken to Salvation Army. Just a few minutes ago the nursing home called to tell me Dad saw doc this morning because he is congested. He always has sinus trouble this time of year so that may be all there is to it but they are putting him on a decongestant for 2 weeks and doing nebulizer treatments. A chest x-ray will be taken in the morning to make sure nothing else is going on.
Tody we get away from purple and pick up some pumpkins in Halloween 2017:
The double frame was cut from vintage party plates. I think it works.

Happy Anniversary to us! Freebie
Today it is 21 years since I married my high school sweetheart. We plan to celebrate our anniversary next week due to doctor appointments etc. etc. Don't know yet where we will be going or for how long, just need a change of pace.
Sorry about missing post yesterday. We had our grand-daughter, Larkin most of the day. Took her to see Despicable Me 3 which was a cute movie. I love that Agnes character! After the movie, full of popcorn and cherry slushie, we came back to the house so hubby could get some lunch. He isn't into buttered popcorn. Can you imagine? Lol. Larkin and I didn't want any lunch just some playtime for her and nap for me. The child is a bundle of energy and very loving and clingy. I got a little sleep before Miss Bouncy Bouncy came in to wake me up because her Papa was busy cooking one of her favorite meals - liver and onions in gravy over rice. I can barely tolerate the smell.
Larkin did not pass first grade. She does well in math and science but is resistant to reading and language arts. Now words are my thing so I'm trying to convince her that learning to read is worthwhile. We worked through about half a pack of phonetic cards before she lost focus. But we came to an agreement. If she wants to stay over a night or two here and there this summer, she will work on reading with me. I also want to help her be more articulate. She can be when she wants to make a point, but because so little is expected of her at home, she doesn't bother most of the time. It was getting late by the time we took Larkin home and we were too tired to do much of anything except sit in front of the TV watching Criminal Minds and veg out. Although Spencer's mother has paranoid schizophrenia and Alzheimer's and is much worse off than my father, I could sure relate to his emotions about being caregiver.
Anyway, here is yesterday's zip:

Running Late with Wednesday freebie
Got a few things done this week so far: paid all Dad's bills and most of mine, finally got the replacement lens put in my new glasses (they had ordered regular lens instead of darkening ones), visited with Dad, talked to nursing home about replacing useless nightstand in his room, made Marble Squares, got my hair cut and did usual basic kitchen and bathroom cleanups. Made plans to take granddaughter to see Despicable Me 3 next week, spoke with my brother (he's no better), and today my husband and I went to see The Mummy. Not a great movie by any means but nice escape.
Thank you all for encouraging comments about new kit. I live in Norfolk, VA, home to one of the largest Naval installations around. I'm minutes from the Chesapeake Bay and also minutes from the joint Navy & Marine base where the famous Seal Team 6 trained. Lots of "nautical" around here.
Today is zip 2 (I'm pretending it isn't past midnight and thus really Thursday):

Movies, mayhem, and freebie
We did get to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales yesterday. Got my fill of buttered popcorn, cherry Icee and 2 hours and 9 minutes of pirate adventure. Nice change of pace. Saw previews of new The Mummy with Tom Cruise and want to see it. John isn't interested and suggested I go with Red Hat friends when it comes out. Works for me. He has a date with granddaughter, Larkin, to see Captain Underpants when it comes out. I'll pass on that.
I'd planned to go see Dad today but instead I'm doing a little much needed picking up. Was just about to vacuum living room (a task I hate because it sets off fibro pain) when husband came in exhausted after spending morning help Larkin learn to ride her bike and then taking his daughter, Larkin, and Larkin's half-brother, Malachai, to lunch. He's flaked out in his recliner so I'm off the hook for vacuuming for a while. Have laundry going, dishes done, some clutter cleared and chemicals doing their thing in bathroom so it's a good time for a little break: some cream soda, barbecue chips and time to post zip 3 of Chick Thing.
This one is kind of a continuation of yesterday's zip.

I'm amazed to find that I have 8 zips ready to post! And at least another 4 in the works.
BTW no post tomorrow. Will start again on Monday. Hope you have a nice holiday weekend.

Wednesday Beach Weather freebie
Saw Star Trek Beyond today. Pretty good. Lots of special effects. I like Chris Pine as Captain Kirk better than William Shatner, but Leonard Nimoy better as Spock than Zachery Quinto. There was a little tribute piece about Nimoy included. Sadly, nothing was added in tribute to the actor, Anton Yelchin, (who plays today's Chekov) who died in a freak accident recently. But there are news stories that said there would be at the end; we watched to the end and didn't see it ???

Short day today & zip 25
Slept in today really late so must get moving and accomplish something. Wanted to go see Alice Through The Looking Glass yesterday and had invited 3 friends but none could go. I decided to go on anyway since hubby was supposed to meet some former co-workers over at Hooters. What can I say about the movie? Colorful, great special effects. As best as I can remember the original "Looking Glass" this just basically borrowed the looking glass as entry to wonderland and the usual characters. This time, Anne Hathaway was less wooden as the White Queen. The character of Time was interesting. Overall though, you might want to just wait for it to come out on TV.
Today's zip has a few more shop items: a doll faced hat stand, another hat, a catalog. You will have to play around with sizes of hats and hatstands to make them look as you wish.
