Easter BAK

Happy Passover to my friends who celebrate it.

I'm certain you have numerous solid papers in your stash, so I stuck to patterned ones.

Romantic Papers freebie

When this posts, I will be at Go Red for Women, a regional Red Hat Society event in support of women's heart health. We will put aside our purple attire and wear all (or mostly) red. There will be all sorts of red hats, especially ones with a heart theme and I'm looking forward to seeing all the creativity that goes into these.

At the end of the week the Mid Atlantic Quilt Show will be in Hampton, just over the river from me. I used to go every year with my dear friends Sandy R., her sister, Wanda C and sometimes my Mom and Aunt Suzy. But Mom passed away, Aunt Suzy lives on Eastern Shore and isn't in good health. Sandy moved to Georgia and Wanda lives in Amelia County - a good distance away. If I go it will be by myself and I'm not likely to stay long as walking on those concrete floors in crowds wears me out. Still, it's something different to do. I should mention that I haven't quilted in a good while. Big projects are out but I do want to get back into doing some crazy quilting. That I can work on a block at a time.

Meanwhile, since my step-daughter and grand-daughter, Larkin are back in our lives, I am busily crocheting. Lisa & Larkin saw my fingerless mitts and said they would like some. I haven't been to the store to get purple yarn for Lisa's yet but Larkin wants blue. I had some soft, fluffy baby yarn in blue with flecks of beige and white here and there and thought I could make her little mitts with that but the yarn is hard to work with. Ended up making Larkin (she's just 5) a scarf and will get some regular blue to do her mitts. Just completed a pair in natural beige for my SIL in Florida and have got to mail those off. I love to crochet when I'm watching TV. That way it doesn't feel as much like I'm wasting time lol. There are a number of babies around just now and I bought some clips to make pacifier keepers for Issac (he's 6 months), Miss June's niece's expected baby, and Liv's expected great grand-daughter.

These Tweet Sweet papers were made sometime after the Love Tweet Love kit.

Last of the Love Tweet Love free papers

Here they are:
If you have collected all the papers, you should have 20.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I hope you will be doing something special and can use this kit to scrap about it.

Just adding a note to say that we got good news at the hospital on 2/9. My husband's arteries are clear - no blockages and his heart is healthy. Doctor said the dark spot on heart seen in nuclear stress test was an artifact probably caused by fatty tissue blocking that area in the scan. Whew!

Aspects Of Autumn freebies coming your way

Hope everyone is happy with the decision to move freebies to dropbox? Hard to believe it is November already! This month I'll be posting Aspects of Autumn and from time to time something else. There is no overall preview of Aspects of Autumn because it was going to be too messy. Instead I've made an overall preview of all the papers which will be split up into 3 zips. Between zips of papers I'll give you zips of various element groups, each with a preview so you know what you are downloading. How does that sound? Today we will start with zip 1 of papers:
Link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/57614067/Autumn/ws_AspectsOfAutumn_papers_1.zip Come back tomorrow for some borders. Hugs!

Catching up and more free papers

Here it is Thursday. Where did the week go? Tuesday was interesting. Our grandson, Tyler turned 17 and, having received his driver's license, was given my husband's Chrysler. We bought the car from a friend's father when Tyler was just a toddler. Tyler went to the bank with my husband to finish the paperwork and when they got home, my husband told me, "One day that car will be Tyler's." Can't wait to get a photo of Tyler driving it. Had meant to put something on blog and facebook Tuesday but we lost power after about 9pm when I would have gone online. There were outages in Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach that I know of, Could have been in other local areas too. Dominion Power claimed it was due to "contamination" by saltwater. Something about recent high humidity and rains etc and air coming off the ocean and bay. Odd, I've lived her most of my life and never knew this to happen. Power was out for us until 2:30am Wednesday then went out again about 5:45am for another 4-5 hours! "Papa" delivered the car to Tyler's parents Tuesday afternoon along with a card with a little gas money. I finally got to speak with him yesterday afternoon and look forward to taking him out to dinner on Friday night. Here is the boy who has given us such joy:
I made some nearly solid papers as an add-on to the Halloween kit because I decided there were too many prints. You should be able to use them for autumn kits too.
Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/WkbawPR9ba/ws_nearlySolids.html? Other news? Not much. Saw the pulmonologist yesterday and did a walk test. Pulse-ox stayed good but I got out of breath sooner than usual. So, since that is happening more often lately, I was given a new inhaler that only has to be taken once a day and is a powder, making it easier to use than the pressurized sprays. I'm to give it a month and see if it improves my breathing.
I'm done with Halloween for this year! More Halloween already scheduled for Friday and Saturday. After that there will be an autumn themed kit (working on it now) and I've got 2 Touch Of Color packs waiting. Ttrying to get ahead with design since there is so much to be done with getting the house ready for the holidays, preparing holiday goodies like fruitcake, cookies, fudge etc.

Another day, another Halloween Treat freebie

Wednesday - mid week and I don't feel like I've accomplished a thing! Doctor visit yesterday and re-check on contacts tomorrow. Saturday my Red Hat friends and I are supposed to be going to see an Elvis impersonator who's a friend of two of them. Laundry is piled up, haven''t planned dinner and have some bills to pay. But we did make a decision yesterday in regards to hubby's pension benefits. Anyway, how about zip 2 of the Halloween Treat papers?
Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/CG7fXtSKba/ws_HalloweenTreat_papers_2.html? and another small treat:
You probably remember seeing this sort of cardboard cutout decorating classrooms and home doors years ago? Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/VDflJMnrba/ss4cu_VintageHalloweenCutouts.html?

Rain, rain and more to come? & Touch Of Color freebie

Things are pretty soggy here. Some areas have flooding from a tropical storm that was off the coast bringing high tides and wind. That storm didn't hit us directly but we've been getting rain 0ff and on. Today it rained most of the time. News is now saying that another tropical storm off the coast is gaining strength and is expected to become a category 2 hurricane. Just lovely. And because I didn't do some running today, I will have to tomorrow. Not looking forward to working around flooded sections. But, what can you do? Norfolk is bordered by some major rivers and the Chesapeake Bay, not to mention all the little creeks etc.
I was just browsing through the photos of the dresses worn to the big Met gala. The things some people will wear just because they are called "fashion" or were created by big name dress designers. Unbelievable! There were some seriously weird and wacky designs worn. Some looked pretty uncomfortable too. And then there is the bare as much as you dare trend. I'm not just knocking it because I don't have the figure to wear those barely there gowns. I mean, I wouldn't wear them if I had the perfect body. Seems like exhibitionism, doesn't it? What's next? Women walking into the gala wearing nothing but their makeup and jewelry? Oh, and those bad-for-the-feet, incrediably high Jimmy Choo etc shoes. Whatever happened to class? Okay, off that soapbox.
Today, I've got more Touch Of Color for you. This time it's brown.

I wasn't going to but . . . another freebie

I know, I said I wasn't going to do any more papers since there are already 20. However, I was just playing around and made a sort of stacked paper in each of the 5 colors of the swatch. Might as well share, right?

More Bohemian Boudoir _paper freebies

It's still cold but tomorrow is predicted to be somewhere between 40s-50s with possibility of rain. today I have 2 more papers for you. Yes, at first glance they appear to be the same. I played with different overlays and filters and couldn't decide which I liked best, so zipped up both. Paper 8 is closer to what I was trying for - a silky fabric wih glitzy dots.

Holiday Treat Day 20 & Holiday Musing

It's a few days 'til Christmas, my house is a mess But Miss June's doing well. so I say "God bless."/ Some baking's been done, but no gifts have been wrapped. It's nothing like Christmases past./ I'd expect to feel down but I'm just too darn tired. I'll bake a few cookies then lie down to sleep. I'm sure all the cleaning is certain to keep./ The thing to remember in all of the rush is what's so often forgotten in the holiday mush./ Once a long time ago, God gave a gift. Not big in size but great beyond our belief./ He gave us His son as a baby so sweet. And as His son grew, we all came to know, that He'd come to save us./ And thus it is so that the true heart of Christmas is Love. So remember the precious gift from above and on Christmas and all days give the best gift of all and love one another both big and the small./
The first couple stanzas were running through my head as I tidied the kitchen so I decided to begin this note with them. The rest just grew as I typed. I know it's not a great piece of writing but I decided to share it with you anyway before I head in to make some Italian anise cookies. I hope your holiday preparations are going well and that all your plans come off smoothly. Today I have (yes) more papers for you:

Day 7 Holiday Treat

Hope you are having a nice weekend. With hubby on vacation, we have been soo lazy! We did manage to send Christmas cards out, tried to take BIL to lunch on his b'day (12/2) but he was working in another city. Happy Birthday today to Baby B aka Berkeley, my son's sweetheart. She's only 29 today. I suggested she stay that age lol. I'm trying to figure out where the time has gone as I haven't accomplished much of anything since Thanksgiving. But this week I intend to catch up on housework and holiday stuff and get back into my aqua therapy routine. I've got some shopping to do still, have to put up the new tree I bought (did buy that this past week), make fruitcakes, and once tree is decorated, I'll start wrapping some packages. Also have to put finishing touches on the doll clothes I made for Inara. Pulmonologist wants me to have the new Prevnar 13 pneumonia vaccine so have to call my primary doc about that. And have to go stand in line at the PO to mail a couple packages. Going to try to schedule all days for this week so that nothing interferes with there being a freebie on line. Next week I have a couple of appointments scheduled so need to get as much done this week as possible.
Before I add today's freebie, I want to thank everyone for the lovely comments. I'm happy to hear you are joining my little treat. I'm trying to alternate papers with elements as I go and there will be some more CU items too. Now here is today's freebie:
Special thanks to Cari Lopez, Christy Strum of Buttermug Squash Designs, Karen of Woolsweater Street, and Trine of Nothing But Freebies for resources used. Pick up your papers here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/EfuLqobwba/ws_HolidayTreat_120714.html? Hugs, SherryD
