Happy Easter! If all goes well, my son & DIL will be here for the weekend, so I'm scheduling this ahead. Thank you all for sharing a word or two about how things are going for you during (I know we are all tired of hearing this) this difficult time. It's strange, it's scary, it is surreal. Despite the fact that I have all four major risk factors and husband has 3, we are well so far. I feel my husband and I are luckier than many because as retirees we don't have to go out anyway and we do have some income coming in. I am grateful, more than ever, that we have a paid off mortgage for this roof over our heads. Grateful for those small pension checks that allow us to buy our medications, keep food on the table and stay current on bills. Grateful for family and friends who, so far, are well and keeping in touch. I have chronic depression but so far, keeping up with my medication and finding little things that give me pleasure, it has remained under control. Watching TV news at night is depressing, It reminds me of the time when televised reporting of the Viet Nam war started and every night there would be gruesome photos from the front lines and body counts, This is much the same. While we need to stay informed, we do not need to dwell on depressing news we can do little about. I would suggest limiting your news viewing. Find something each day you can be grateful for. If you can, find a way to help out - many are sewing much needed face masks, others shop for elderly family and neighbors, those who can donate to local agencies that provide food for families in need. One of the simplest, but so thoughtful, things you can do is to call, write or email those you care about. Try finding something to distract your thoughts - maybe you have a hobby you can turn to, read a good book (many sites are now offering free e-books), listen to music you love, look on-line for free classes to learn something new, pray and/or meditate.
In my state (Virginia) the stay at home order runs through June. The vacation we'd planned for next month must wait for a better time. None of us know when the worst of this will be over. And we don't know what things will be like when things are allowed to return to normal. What will our new normal be? Admittedly, it is difficult to be hopeful just now but we need to try. For the most part, I remain peaceful but, as I said previously, I have reasons to be. If I were to get this virus, I will refuse a ventilator so that someone with a better chance of recovery and better chance to contribute to the community once well, may have it. I would, however, appreciate comfort care. If God is ready for me to go home, so be it. I have found that recently I have a little anxiety at night but it is free floating and seems to be related to concern for family and friends. When I can't sleep, I pray, read, play solitaire until I'm relaxed or numb.
Thought we'd end this BAK with a little word art.

Easter BAK
Happy Passover to my friends who celebrate it.
I'm certain you have numerous solid papers in your stash, so I stuck to patterned ones.

Easter BAK continues
Another day of staying home and watching upsetting news. Just got off the phone with a friend. The other day I had called to check on her and she was having trouble talking, couldn't get her words together, said she'd have to call me back. I was worried because once before she had had trouble with some of her medication and ended up in the hospital. She called today and was fine. Doesn't know what happened the other day - a mini stroke? But this time we talked for a long while and I'm relieved that all seems well. Wondering how things are going for everyone else. Some of you have children who are home for the duration and I know it's a challenge to keep them entertained. Others have the care of elderly parents with various ailments and this is doubly difficult just now. And some of us have our own health problems and worries about continuity of care during this health crisis.
For me, I've remained optimistic and calm until just recently when I've begun to have some free floating anxiety as I try to go to sleep. But this will pass, one way or the other, won't it? I've begun wondering what lasting changes all of this will make to the world as we once knew it.
Today's BAK zip is a handful of vintage Easter images. With Easter almost here, let us focus on the promise of Christ's resurrection and the beautiful renewal of the earth's floral and fauna.

Easter BAK
Trying to get up enough energy to do some much needed cleaning. So far, friends and family I've spoken with are doing well - just experiencing cabin fever.
Today, a few frames:

Easter BAK _Lambs
Went out today for first time to pick up some things we needed from grocery store. Found almost everything I needed at the Walmart Neighborhood store & picked up the last two thing at Food Lion. It certainly is strange to see so many empty or sparsely stocked shelves. Sorry to be running late but was busy earlier.
Todays zip is:

Easter BAK frrebies
I hope everyone is doing well. Watching news these nights reminds me too much of watching news during the time of the Vietnam war. Getting so tired of staying inside and not seeing anyone but my husband. We've done the census and the taxes. Lots of housework I could be doing but don't want to stir up too much dust while we are both having headaches and runny noses.
Today I have two zips of Easter goodies for you. First, the last of those Easter Plaid papers:

Also, some bunnies:

I'm going to start hosting a monthly ATC challenge at Just Art so I'm preparing for the April challenge.
Stay well!

Easter BAK freebie
It's good to hear how you are doing, my friends. It is rather like we are living in a sci-fi novel, isn't it? Physical closeness banned, businesses, schools, and all types of entertainment venues closed, restaurants limited to take out only. Scarcity of supplies and enforced limitations. Economies falling. And everywhere people ill and/or dying. Remember how it used to be said that the world would end in fire or ice? And more recently, that artificial intelligence would conquer humanity? Now we watch as viruses and bacteria - such simple life forms - dominate all. But enough doom and gloom. I find myself oddly calm, not depressed, but peaceful. Am I being stupid, or have I grown enough spiritually to rest assured God has a grand plan and, in time, all will be right again?
In truth, not much has changed for me and my husband. Sure, we miss going out for lunch with friends or having people in for a visit. We have some symptoms but they could simply be allergy related. And staying in isn't much of a burden since we're not out and about much anyway. Just going about our usual dull days, maybe napping a little more since we feel a little more fatigued. Basic household chores are getting done. Reading a little more when I might have wanted to go browsing in thrift stores. Having our grand-daughter stay where she is instead of having her here just now. Watching a little more Netflix.
I've done every single challenge on Just Art this month and even posted a new one myself about making ATCs. Got on a roll with those. Here are a couple of my challenge pieces.
Not my typical style, it required using a couple of masks.
This one was a Mystery Door challenge in which I was given 3 surrealistic photos to choose from to make a page. I chose one of a clock in green sea water and came up with this.
The ATC challenge I mentioned? I made these to send to my son and DIL who are in health care.
Now about today's freebie. For those who don't know, I once sold commercial use products under the trade name, Sher Scraps 4 CU. If you see that name, know it is me and if I give you something under that name, you may use the product commercially if you wish. I bring this up because I was going through my stash and came across some CU Easter papers I'd made and here they are:

Easter_Build a Kit PU freebie series
Intended to post this yesterday but got interrupted.
Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ttefym7srizkp9a/ws_Easter_BAK_eggs.zip?dl=0
Thank you for responses & comments. Kristi, good to hear about the family and hope they stay well. Your father sounds like mine - stubborn & determined to do his thing. My husband seems to be running a fever off and on (naturally, the battery went out in our thermometer) and I continue to have chills. Some coughing for both but no more shortness of breath than usual. Pollen is awful so that isn't helping. Gets in when we open door to check mail. Pretty much staying put other wise.
