Journal card freebie

Would you believe - we actually had a snow flurry on Saturday and it was in 30s Sunday. Where is Spring? Still watching NCAA tournament. No more Virginia teams left and only one North Carolina team, Duke who I usually cheer for unless they are playing UNC Chapel Hill. We're headed for the Final Four, then it's back to regular TV lol. Scheduling just a little something for today because the left hip/lower back problem I've been fighting since January is much worse & I won't be spending a lot of time in PC chair. Thought at first it was a fibro flare-up and treated it accordingly. It got somewhat better, returned, improved etc. With the ice and snow of February, I decided it probably had an arthritic component since everyone I know my age and above was having problems. Did the usual stuff for that and again there were good days and bad days. For over a week now it's been so much worse with pain radiating down my leg - at first to thigh and eventually all the way to foot. Nothing makes a difference. Finally I remembered a time I had a pinched nerve and the pain was much like this. Nothing I can do on my own for that so called to make appointment with my doctor. Wouldn't you know? he's out of office until Monday. I suspect when I see him, he will put me on a course of prednisone. We will see. Meanwhile, I do have a couple journal cards for you. The first is very simple and only says "Today." You could use it for a to-do list, to make note of things at are bothering you that day, just about anything. The second card is one that asks you to think of something you should do, something you've been putting off. Could be as simple as cleaning out the freezer, or something more personal like giving up smoking. My thoughts are to use this to record that something you need to do and make some brief notes about how you plan to achieve it. We all know it does no good to say, "I need to lose weight" (for instance) and not figure out how you intend to do it. Put your plan in writing and you will feel more committed. Send a copy to a friend who is very supportive of you and you will feel even more committed to your plan because you know she will ask you how it's going.

Bohemian Boudoir _ more new links

Three more element zips today (not all elements shown in previews):
This one is messy because there is so much in the zip. Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tireced54r28en6/ws_BohemianBoudoir_el_4.zip?dl=0
Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/asf82ugvpwfoi4e/ws_BohemianBoudoir_el_5.zip?dl=0

WOW - if you didn't see 60 Minutes tonight, you missed a wonderfully uplifting story about Duke University's cancer research. They may have found a real breakthrough. Interested? Go to 60 Minutes website and read about it. Hope is something we all can use.

This is it . . . freebie

All good things ( I think this was?) must come to an end and we have come to the end of Bohemian Boudoir. Today you will meet Adara (means beautiful) another friend of Mirela's. Her zip includes a drapery treatment you've seen in the stacked papers, a flower and fern, a fossil, and some tiles spelling out "fate." I've also included a blank tile in case you want to create your own words. Just copy as many tiles as you need for the word, line them up as you'd like and type a letter on each. If you'd like a fancy font, there are many available for free on line. I do hope you have enjoyed this kit. I'm still working on a way for those who have to wait so long to more easily download it. I've combined papers and elements in zips of about 30MB each, a size most people can easily download, but there are about 10 zips of that size; I haven't had time yet to see if my free dropbox will allow me to load that much. Remember by 4/1 all zips of Bohemian Boudoir will be removed, so get it while you can.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/Dw8dFLrgba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_AdaraDecor.html? I''ve just discovered that this last zip with Adara does not appear in the combined zips I posted links for. You can find it here on new 4shared link. Sorry I am not able to load to dropbox at this time. Please remember that the combined zips at dropbox are only going to be available until Sunday. this last 4 shared link I'll leave up until Monday. Hope that works for everyone. http://www.4shared.com/zip/JkvhGDegce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_AdaraDecor.html?

Bohemian Boudoir freebie re-post new link

In response to those who had trouble downloading from 4shared, I went back and combined previous posts into zips of about 30MB each and will be giving you links to downloads on dropbox. There will be 9 combined zips in all - 3 for papers (20) & stacked papers and 6 zips of elements which I didn't count. This is winding down so snag zips right away if you want them. The 4shared links will expire 4/1. I will leave the dropbox combined links up until 4/4. Here is the first combined zip of papers (preview tells you what is included):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4196ue2ujgvmafe/ws_BohemianBoudoir_papers_1.zip?dl=0 Here too is the first element zip:
I must tell you that I messed up and the peacock feathers in the vase and book stack are Not in this zip. They are in the zip that includes room decor. https://www.dropbox.com/s/x21yn0p6axbcyit/ws_BohemianBoudoir_el-1.zip?dl=0

Bohemian Boudoir freebie

By the time this posts it will be mid-week and almost the end of March! Where did the month go? Today you get some mystical supplies.
This zip includes a Turkish evil eye bead, which you will see these being worn many places around the globe. Currently, like the ancient Hamsa Hand (a Jewish symbol for the hand of God) or the Hand of Fatima Islamic) which celebrities have taken to wearing, it's another protective amulet, intended to protect the wearer from evil. There is also an "all-seeing eye," a palm reading card, the crystal ball, and a ouija board which Mirela would warn you not to use except with companions and then carefully. Maybe I should borrow Mirela's crystal ball and see what April is going to be like? I'm hoping it's a happy, healthy month for all. And I'd really like a Spring that lingers for more than a few days. No way I'm ready for Summer heat and humidity. http://www.4shared.com/zip/m5yiMZcOce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Mystical.html?

Quick note about alternative 4 freebies

I'm headed to bed but thought I'd let you know that I just finished loading combined files of Bohemian Boudir to Dropbox and will publish those links tomorrow. Hope that will help those who had trouble using 4shared.

I wasn't going to but . . . another freebie

I know, I said I wasn't going to do any more papers since there are already 20. However, I was just playing around and made a sort of stacked paper in each of the 5 colors of the swatch. Might as well share, right?

Meet Rawnie - a BB freebie

I think it's time you met Rawnie (her name means Lady), another of Mirela's friends. Can you guess what her favorite colors are? See the Tibetian singing bowl in the preview? Rawnie has been using it to help Mirela get in the proper mood for meditation. And she's showing off the wonderful sterling roses her boy friend just gave her.
Rawnie is waiting for you here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/7vdFPC44ce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_RawnieMore.html?

Another Saturday, another freebie

It's another saturday already! This month is flying by. Hubby & I are still watching the NCAA basketball tournament, March Madness & some of the N.I.T. as well. Both of us aren't doing much else. The weather dropped back to chilly and old injuries and arthritis act up when that happens. Yesterday we took my car and dropped it off for state inspection, then went to lunch at Golden Corral. Afterward, I tried to schedule a post but internet connection was down so instead I took a long, long nap. Anyway, I'm not ignoring those of you who have complained that 4shared is asking you to wait 1000 seconds for a download. That amazed me as I never have to wait more than 20 seconds. However, I then noticed that at least one of the people who told me this was overseas. The suggestion to use dropbox is good but I have to check into it further. I have a lot of zips to be loaded to another server which is time consuming. Also, I only have the free dropbox as I have limited income and I don't remember what restriction it has in terms of amount I can upload. Perhaps I can combine some zips and do it that way. Will let you know more next week, okay? Meanwhile, today I have a package I think you will really like. It contains a vanity I created using a template that is still available from my friend, Felice, of Felice Originals, which she called Vintage Dresser. Here is her preview:
http://exquisitescraps.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8_227&products_id=7322 And here is our Bohemian version:
Pick up your zip here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/OWlJdUBpba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Vanityvanit.html? I'm off to put some laundry in and watch more bsketball. Hugs!

Maybe next year & freebie

It was such a close game when my Virginia Commonwealth University Rams met Ohio State for the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. I misssed the first half of the game because I had to take a full breathing test during my visit with pulmonologist. I went from 76% lung capacity to 75.8% which is fine. It means my COPD is stable. My husband kindly made dinner so I could watch the rest of the game, which went into double overtime! Ohio got us by 3 points right at the end. Exciting but disappointing. Maybe next year. Now for your freebie.
A few items to decorate the room. Find it here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/9VUdOTNice/ws_BohemianBoudoir_room_decor.html? Just have to show you something I found while browsing ebay because it goes along with our kit theme. I collect vintage sewing acessories/tools/buttons. It's becoming difficult to find things in my price range but eery now nd then I come across something. I saw this tambourine sewing kit and thought you might enjoy seeing it too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Leather-Tambourine-design-ETUI-with-Manicure-Sewing-Accessories-/110987213148?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d75a795c Wow! I'd love to have that but it's out of my price range - way out! But what a fanciful idea!

March Madness & Bohemian Boudoir freebie

I have never been athletic. I just wasn't coordinated enough for sports. And even though my paternal grandfather played minor league baseball and educated me about the game when I was young, I only watched the World Series when I was with him. Football doesn't interest me at all and there is little I watch during the Olympics (I do enjoy the ice dancing) but I can really get into men's college basketball. That I will watch on TV or go see in person. It's March Madness time now and I am happily filling in brackets along side my husband. Naturally, I was very excited the other night when my alma mater, Virginia Commonwealth University won the Atlantic 10 championship. My home town's Old Dominion University team isn't in the NCAA playoffs but just won the first round of the National Invitational Tournament and will play again tomorrow. Nearby Hamption University won their first game of the NCAA and will play again tomorrow against top rated Kentucky. I wish the Pirates luck. My VCU Rams play again tomorrow and I'm hoping coach, Shaka Smart, and our team got plenty of rest and are ready to come out and wreck Havoc! Another state team, the University of Virginia Cavaliers will be playing Friday. Time to make easy dinners and sit down and watch basketball!
Today just some miscellaneous items I put together from my folder of things to finish.
Some more posters for the room, a table with some wine, and so on. Link is: http://www.4shared.com/zip/Jgnk45Rmba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_miscellaneo.html? Hope you are having as much fun with this kit as I am.

More Bohemian Boudoir freebies

Another day just about over. Took my father to the eye doctor today and did some errands. Nothing much. When I was creating our gypsy figure earlier, I had fun playing around with differnt looks. I didn't name the gypsy/bohemian girl or the fortune teller but when I re-visited the figures I'd been playing with, I decided why not give our girl some friends? Bohemian 1, 2 ,3 etc became ineffective as a way of determining which I was setting up so I decided to name them all and looked up some Romi names. The fortune teller has now been named Esmeralda (emerald) just because it's a common name for Romi girls and the one used by Victor Hugo for the gypsy in his novel. I decided to consider her the older sister of our girl and named our girl Mirela, which means to admire. You might not care about any of this but I['m sharing the info anyway lol. The friend I'll be presenting tonight I named Nadya which means hope. Nadya prefers bright, cheerful colors and loves flowers. Here she is:
You will find her here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/y-eox4C0ce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_NadyaFlower.html?

Errands to run & freebies to give

It's just past midnight here and I must be getting to bed but I've got running around to do once I wake up so thought I'd best post now. Bohemian Boudoir is coming to a close soon. Today I have more elements for you.
Thought we could use some floral accents to go with the blue in the color swatch. These hydrangea accents would work with the gold too. http://www.4shared.com/zip/wdbmLn-hce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Hydrangea.html? I also have a couple new journal cards for you. I guess you have noticed that for me, a journal card isn't just a little tag with a quote or some words like "Best Day!" For me a journal requires me to write something, to reflect. Most of the journal cards I make will prompt you to write something. Today's are certainly no exception. In fact, these are intended to make you think and use your imagination. The first, In Another Life, could be interpreted as asking you who you might have been in another life. Do you have any "memories" you can't account for? But the card could also be asking you if you could get a do-over what would that life be like? Please note that I don't intend to upset anyone by appearing to advocate the docterine of reincarnation. Not at all. But I am a person with a highly active imagination and I don't mind exploring where ever my imagination leads me. The background on that one is from a painting, which is why I left the painter's name in the corner. The other card asks you to think of someone, put that name on the butterfly and imagine what one thing you would change about that person. It might be something as simple as a haircut for your teen who is looking a little wild, or as complex as addressing a personality quirk. All up to you.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/G9xuTtWPba/SherryD_JournalCards_1314.html? If you have a suggestion for a journal card topic, please leave it in comments here on the blog. 4shared comments aren't always seen. Have a great day!

Bohemian Boudoir freebie

First, my thanks to all for birthday wishes and comments on Bohemian Boudoir. My son and his girlfriend came in Thursday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. They were using a new route, trusting GPS and got lost. After resting up a while and catching up on things, they took me to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner. My husband had union meeting and it worked out well with us just getting in after he'd gotten home. The rest of the night went pretty quickly. We had planned to go see the movie Imitation Game on Friday but it wasn't showing until 9:30 p.m. and they needed to be on the road before then. I'd put country short ribs in the crock pot that morning so we were free to roam. Had brunch at IHop, checked out a new thrift store where Berekeley found a number of things to wear including a beautiful pastel green cashmire sweater that was like new. Did a little other shopping then came home to rest before dinner. By then the pain I've been having down my left side was much worse so I took some Tylenol and laid down for a nap while the children caught up with my husband. Berkeley had never eaten barbeque ribs before but they were a hit. All too soon it was evening and time for the kids to head out to Richmond where they would visit with Berekeley's mother and sister before going back to PA. PA is just too far away! Already miss my babies!
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and I'm part Irish so had to make something Celtic for you. Watch for a QP in the morning (I'll schedule tonight so I don't forget.) Meanwhile, I've got some frames for our on-going kit. The preview shows 2 but you will find 3 in the zip because I included an un-embellished version of the fushia frame.

Bohemian Boudoir freebie another piece of furniture & a border

If you lived in this room we've been creating, you'd have to say it is colorful if you can't say anything else. Lol. Today we are adding a painted armoire and there is a peacock feather border for you too. Friday the 13th or not, don't think there is anything unlucky in these.

Gypsy collage sheet anyone? free!

Just for fun, I thought you might like some collage sheets of gypsies. These were all gathered from the Google image search. I did not include credits (shame on me) but most are from old paintings so in public domain anyway. A great many of these images are rather small but could be useful for ATCs, jewelry making, etc.
The zip includes jpeg sheet for printing and psd for those who want to use individual images. Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/iXm0N3LOba/gypsy_collage_1__2.html?

Bohemian Boudoir freebie

Quick post to give you some musical items.
Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/7NpACXZfba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_MusicalInst.html? Many thanks for the birthday wishes and nice comments I've been receiving about this kit. Yesterday was pretty quiet. While my husband was at work I did a little prep for company I'm expecting tomorrow, and packed up about 6 more posts worth of Bohemian Boudoir. I'll try to get around to scheduling a few more later today to cover the days I'll have company. I've really enjoyed playing with this kit and thank Stacey for suggesting the color palette. These rich colors are just the thing after a long winter full of white and gray. I've enjoyed the Bohemian theme I choose too because it suggests openess to new experiences, willingness to step outside the box of what everyoe else is doing or wearing and express the self. It's made me realize that if I were to choose one word for this year I should choose DISCOVERY. I seem to be some kind of journey of self discovery or maybe re-discovery is a better explanation. It's funny how I'd always looked forward to retirement with the freedome to do whatever I wanted. then about a doxen or more years ago when I had to retire due to health issues, I found my "retirement" was nothing like I'd expected. Sure, chronic pain conditions made changes to what I was able to do and financial constraints limited some options but worst of all was the loss of purpose. We don't realize how much of ourselves, our self image, comes from roles we take on until those roles no longer exist. I warn anyone who is about to embark on retirement - planned or not - to be aware that you might experience a sense of loss, even if you hated your employment. Suddenly you may find yourself wondering who you are now, what you really want to do and that can be disturbing. My retirement was surely complicated by my mother being in final stages of lung cancer as well as my own health issues and accomodations I had to make to them. One thing and another and an overwhelming sense of loss. All this time and I just now feel I am coming around to recovering essential parts of myself. Sorry, I am meandering on but I'm feeling pretty strongly that a big change is coming and I'm finding myself less apprehensive (finally!) and more optomistic about it. That is a good thing and I just had to share. And now I must go vaccum! Hugs!

These are the last of the papers. Unless you see something in the way of papers that we still need & let me know.
Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/xkDijUqrce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_papers_19-2.html? Today is my birthday so I'm scheduling post in advance. Thought I'd give you a little something special - a gypsy girl to inhabit this Bohemian Boudoir.
Hope you like her. Find her here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/c2DePoozba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Gypsy.html? I still have a few more elements left to be finished and then we will call Bohemian Boudoir done. Please remember that this kit will only be available until April 1 at which time links will expire. Gather it while you can.

Bohemian Boudoir freebie

You just know that our little Bohemian has tried reading tarot cards. You saw evidence of this earlier. So now a few tarot themed elements to play with.
Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/osQh7uX9ce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Tarot.html? I have been having so much fun with this kit and hope you are enjoying it. With high pain levels of recent weeks, it has kept me nicely distracted. Far easier to play at computer than get any housekeeping done lol. However, I'm expecting Jeremy and Berkeley to come down from PA on Thursday and I must finish clearing up the back room so they have a place to sleep. I'd put that new organizer in the closet that was cleared out from Rachel's stay but only put a few things back. Today I'll be pushing myself to clear that room so I can do regular cleaning tomorrow. That way maybe I can have Wednesday to recooperate before they arrive.
I still have a lot of elements to post for Bohemian Boudoir like an armoire, vanity, a number of Bohemians and more. Today I'll tack on another clothing zip.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/im41OV6Oba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_clothing2.html? Tomorrow is my birthday - 64! I already have a scheduled freebie post set up and that is probably all you will see of me. I'll schedule posts for the rest of the week but will hardly be around much. Have a great week!

Another little freebie

Hi, me again, I'd set up some posts to be sure I got freebies out this week and one was already scheduled for tonight. But I'm sitting here drinking a hot cup of "Pink" - an acaiberry "tea" - when it occured to me that you might not know what to do with the clothing I'd given you previously as a Bohemian Boudoir freebie. From today's post you can see that I made that freebie from the clothing I used on today's fortune teller. One thing you could do with the previous freebie of clothing (& one not yet posted) is to make a little vignette but that would probably be easier for you if you had a dress form to hang the clothes on. So I'm giving you a dress form. You will have to resize and work with the clothing to make it fit the dress form but I'm sure you can manage it. See the dress form preview for one idea.
Here's the link & please note: the clothes shown are from a previous package. http://www.4shared.com/zip/DvUbQVLPba/ws_BohemianBoudoir_dress_form.html?

I think you're going to like this one. You probably wouldn't find this in our Bohemian's bedroom but maybe she'd have a little area close by to offer readings. Anyway, had fun doing it.

Bohemian Boudoir freebie & journal cards

It's a gloomy day here: grey sky, cold, dirty snow leftovers. Tomorrow is supposed to be near 70 but then snow again Thursday! This is no fun! Was checking my files and see I forgot to give you journal cards 9 & 10
One bright, one dark. I love the Rumi quote but know wehave a dark side too and think we should face up to what could be improved. Link: http://www.4shared.com/zip/hNNhEkSwba/SherryD_journal_Cards_910.html? Today a small element freebie - some crystals our girl would have in her room.

Art Nouveau, Bohemian Boudoir (freebie) & The Who

Woke up before dawn this morning, thinking I'd heard a crash. It wouldn't be the first time someone had hit one of our vechicles. Went to the door in my pjs to look and thought it had snowed again. Wasn't wearing my glasses so it seemed like more than after the sun set yesterday. Didn't see any drunk driver plowed into one of the cars so came back in to go back to bed and told husband about snow. He said I was imagining it and needed to go back to sleep. Here it is after noon. I sat down at the PC over an hour ago - just to finish my coffee and listen to some music my husband was playing on his PC. He was playing some classics by The Who. The music was energizing me and heaven knows I need that lol. So I loaded about 5 zips I'd packed up last night to 4shared and while doing that I was looking through Tumbler for some interesting images to use as backgrounds for inchies and microscope slide pendants etc. Time just flew by. All that aside, what do I have for you today? How about some more bedroom furnishings? I'm not totally satisfied with the bed but our girl needs some place to lay her head after a long day of work, attending a poetry reading, and then coffee with friends and a bit of music.
http://www.4shared.com/zip/RwVfC2awce/ws_BohemianBoudoir_Bed_Blanket.html? BTW, husband said I wasn't totally wrong about the snow - no it hasn't yet but there is a winter storm warning now in effect so maybe I was predicting the white stuff. We will see.
