Friday freebie & late Wacky Wednesday

Friday is disappearing fast! Husband took Dad for his Coumadin check and asked the nurse to check out his injuries. He has a huge black bruise on his head and under the eye on that side but the nurse said he looked okay and told him the same thing I had: if he experiences any confusion, headache or visual disturbances, he is to go to the ER immediately. While they were at the doctor's office I manged to get things a bit better organized, wrap a few gifts, and do some minor cleanup. Not too active though as I am suffering from the side effects of that course of penicillin. Got a short nap in before going to pick up the girls. Went to Cracker Barrel for dinner then to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens to see the holiday lights. Larkin ooohed and aahed. And she loved the Beanie Boo snowman, Scoops, I'd brought along for her. Saw it the other day when I did some shopping and knew she would like it.

Tomorrow is Snowball Express, the area Red hat Christmas party. Wish I were looking forward to it but I'm not. The best part will be spending some time with my pals, Mary and Joyce, and seeing some of the other ladies from our group and a few others I know. I borrowed a red top from Mary, more so she wouldn't feel Karen's discontent with my lack of compliance to dress code, than because I care. Didn't get around to making the fascinater I'd planned on so have hastily wrapped some white feather trim around a headband and added a red poinsettia that has some sequins on it. What I'm looking forward to most tomorrow is getting home, into comfortable clothes and doing some baking. My fruit cakes have not been baked yet! I am going to have to douse them with brandy a little more than usual.

But the tree is up, wreath on the door, the majority of gifts are wrapped. I've even chopped veggies except potatoes so that I can make a stew when I get home tomorrow. Next week we have 2 appointments to take Dad to and then I lose 2 days to my medical prep and procedures. I can't seem to get caught up, let alone a bit ahead.

I totally forgot to post a Wacky Wednesday freebie!

Another mistake corrected & Wacky Wednesday

Obviously, I am not, (quoting Dr. McCoy of Star Trek) "operating on all thrusters"! Missed putting in yesterday's link. Will correct as soon as I finish this post, so check back to yesterday's post for added link, please.
Took husband to doc today. Learned that the CT done at hospital really didn't show anything, so based on symptoms, he was treated for infective colitis. Our doctor is following up by scheduling an ultrasound and a colonoscopy to gain more information. He did tell hubby he can have coffee again, just no cream or milk except for skim milk (why bother with that). So tired of doctor appointments!

Oops, oops, and freebie

Yesterday, it was one mistake after another! I got my days confused, thinking today I would fast and do prep for procedures tomorrow. Went out to lunch and when I checked times on my list for procedures, I realized the mistake. Had to call and re-schedule. Now it will be week before Christmas. Then I posted Wacky Wednesday freebie and did not add link. Thanks to whoever alerted me. If you go back to yesterday's post you can now get link to bookmarks.

Today's zip is:

A nod to the more geometric, hard lines art deco.

Wacky Wednesday freebies

Going to meet my God-daughter, Rachel, at Old Dominion University today. Hubby and I are taking her to lunch at a nearby restaurant. Been a long time since I've seen her so looking forward to it.

Today is zip 15 of Deco Dazzle:

The zip contains a paper that makes me think it could be bedroom wallpaper so the elements are vanity items.

And your Wacky Wednesday freebie:

I think that some of the prettiest art deco designs can be found in bridge tallies. There you see less of the hard geometric lines and more of what is often referred to as sheperdess or Bo Peep fashions. I took some tallies, cleaned them up a little and made them into bookmarks. The zip contains a jpeg of all four since I think most people will print them off and cut apart to use as bookmarks. But I also included a psd file in layers in case anyone might want to do something else with these.

Wacky Wednesday freebie

Almost forgot what day it is! Today I'm sharing a vintage trade card. The girl reminds me of Princess Dianna. What do you think?

Wacky Wednesday freebies

I'm writing this post Tuesday evening and scheduling for Wednesday because I will be out with Dad most of the day. There's a doctor's appointment, and then he wants to go visit June. About the time we fight traffic and get home, it will be time for me to make dinner, take that over and put away the trash and recycling cans that went out. Anyway, going to give you the third Deco Dazzle zip and am trying something new: Wacky Wednesdays. The idea behind Wacky Wednesday is to share various things I'm playing with. One week it might be some digital stamps, another a couple miscellaneous elements, or an experimental paper.

First today's Deco Dazzle:
