New freebie

Last day of July. Last day to grab Peachy & Sunshine & Flowers before they go to the store. Day, something a little different. Ever wondered what to do with ephemeria? It can add an interesting touch to a page and one way to do that is to make a cluster with it. Today I have 3 such clusters for you, each including childhood ephemera. Hope you like them.

Last of Sunshine & Flowers

92 degrees here today but spent several hours inside air conditioned restaurant with friends. Conversations went to books & cooking mostly. Went into talk of Covid restrictions, vaccinations, etc near the end of our time together and things got a little argumentative because most are for vaccination but one die hard holistic medicine person argued about its dangers. Another point of contention was whether young children, who cannot be vaccinated, should have to wear masks in school. You know that old saying about everyone having an opinion - yeah, it was like that. Stopped in at Marshalls on the way home to look for another crossbody bag. Didn't like what they had but bought a product to try that is supposed to help eyelashes. It has biotine in it plus other stuff. Will let you know if it makes any difference.

More Sunshine & Flowers

Getting a little relief from the extreme heat, but not much and it won't last. Still, it is summer, so not unexpected. We continue working with the little household repairs. I hate the track lights that are now above my sink. Why we couldn't just replace the fluorescent light, I don't know. It was supposed to be an easy job, taking no more than half an hour. Want to guess how long it took? 3 hours! Sure, we had help not too experienced with that sort of thing, too many people in a small space and too much advice. Gee, I can't wait until we do the replacement range hood! We ended up taking the kids out to dinner at nine o'clock! It is no fun having to depend on help to do what you used to be able to do by yourself. Just finished my part of the Magnolia Gardens Scraps October collab which will have a Halloween theme with everyone chosing their own colors. I made a pack pf 14 papers and two packs of elements which focus on owls so I'm calling my part Halloween Hoot. It will be part of the coolab and afterwards I can sell my part in mystore. Want a peek>
You are probably wondering how much more of the current kit there is. There is a total of 8 zips. What comes after? Good question. Might be something of a change, like maybe some brushes or something like that.

Hot, hot, hot & Sunshine & Flowers part 5

Yep, still too hot here. Spoke with A/C people yesterday morning. We don't need a recharge; it is the weather and everyone is calling in. Last night the temps dropped enough to be comfortable and this afternoon we've got 73 inside, A?C working hard. Summer - I do not love it. This evening Tyler & Sally will be over for Tyler to install the new lighting above kitchen sink. Perhaps Sally will help me re-build the wire rack cubucle storage for back closet. After Tyler is done, we will go with them to Pembroke Pizza for a quick dinner. Tomorrow's agenda is setting appointments and doing laundry. Such fun. Spoke with son last night. DIL is still receiving training in 3 hospital lab areas and working part time there. Jeremy is working loads of overtime as Patient First refuses to hire more poeple and people keep quitting. This is especially bad as his neck problems continue. He is quite the unhappy supervisor at this point and even went to an interview with an orthopaedist's office. But that isn't a great option as he'd have to do more than radiology and, not being management, receive less pay. He's feeling trapped. Employers everywhere are making do with fewer employees doing more work with no compensation for the changes. But here is today's zip:

Sunshine & Flowers 4

Today is a little bit cooler. Yesterday with the AC blowing the inside of house went up to 79 degrees. The living room overhead fan and computer room fans are the only ones working unfortunately. We have bought kits to replace the switches in the other fans but have to wait for grandson to find time to put them in. The exhaust fan in the master bath is still working and the new fan has arrived so waiting on electrician to install. Meanwhile the flourescent light abouve the kitchen sink finally died and hubby bought a track light thingy to replace it - another project for Tyler. Everything seems to be wearing out at the same time. Typical, isn't it? So I added to the mix and said, "Let's go ahead and replace the range hood while we have the help." The original one is white enamel which has gotten pretty grungy after all this time. I decided to go with stainless steel this time because the enamel chips and discolors over time. Naturally, it's out of stock locally so we ordered on line and should have it in a few days. My biggest replace and renew project is going to have to wait a little. That would be the front half bath where everything needs replacing: flooring, change toilet to chair height with safety bar to side, swap out pedestal sink for small vanity, re-paint. We're going to have to hire someone who can do all that and it will be pricey. All this depresses my husband who used to be able to do all these things but we can't stay young and fit forever. So, now that I've complained about being a homeowner, why don't I go ahead and give you zip 4 of the current kit?

Sunshine & Flowers 2

Nothing new here since last post. I was supposed to go with my husband to a retiree lunch at Dead Rise Fish House in Hampton but woke with nausea. Since fish isn't my favorite thing and I'd planned on having the she crab soup and today is way too hot for that, I stayed home. He said it was very good but pricey. Feeling beter and just taking it easy until the sun goes down when I'll do a little laundry. RIght now working up ideas for the next Magnolia Gardens Scrap which will be in October with a Halloween theme. I have done so many Halloween kits over the years that I am not inspired. Supposed to be another scorcher today, so bad they recommend staying inside. But I'm going to lunch with the girls lol.

Sunshine & Flowers

It's been a busy week. Summer heat arrived and with it we were invaded by ants. Endured that a couple days until James from Terminix came out and, thanks James, we are free of the little beasties at this time. Had a quiet 4th of July watching movies. Tuesday (7/6) was our 25th anniversary. I went to lunch with friends at Bahama Breeze wearing my gifts of a silver love knot necklace and silver twisted rope braceelet. Later my husband took me out to dinner at Smokey Bones. Multiple problems around the house as things wear out. Nothing we couldn't have handled on our own once but no more. The exhaust & heating fan in the master bath stopped working, for one thing, and without a window to open mildew and mold became a threat. Grandson took the fan down and cleaned it, got it working but not well. Ordered another. Thought we might get it in today since the electrician was due back but the new one would require additional changes. He found the same make as the original and I'm in process of ordering that and returning the one my husband bought. Meanwhile he finally located the caus of the shocks we'd been getting in the kitchen - a misplaced ground wire behind the dishwasher. Fixed now. Sorry I haven't put anything up for you recently but I'm having neck pain again, extending down my left arm into my hand. Must be time for an epidural. On the plus side of health I saw pulmonologist this week for my quarterly breathing test and my numbers went up a little more - not much but any improvement is good. I've been seriously uninspired and couldn't decide what to do for this next kit. Finally I decided to do something floral. You probably know by now that I tend to go for cool colors so I decided to challenge myself by using warm. The result is Sunshine and Flowers.

Last of Just Peachy freebie

Sorry for delay but had technical difficulties yesterday with cable connection. Wifi wouldn't even let me do my telehealth call but fortunately was able to complete appointment as just regular phone call on land line. Anyway, without further complaint, here is the rest of Just Peachy:
