Almost forgot - more State Fair

What a week! Learned that repairs to our foundation are going to cost a little over $30,000.00 and work won't begin until after Christmas. This house was built in the 1950s and code was dfferent then. What we learned is that over time the center beam had "bananaed," or curved which is what is causing the house to shake when large heavy trucks go by and floors to be less than level. Trying to straighten it isn't possible and trying to level the house would cause the corners of the house to lift and, quite possible, damage the floors. What has to be done is place steel beams to either side of that beam and on joists that aren't properly supporting areas of weight. If that sounds like mish-mash, I understand. But we saw the photos and the diagrams of what will be done. The guy said that although they can't level the floors, in time the house should settle onto the new supports gradually. Anyway, it is a must do. Friday we picked up our grand-daughter and hubby taught her to make his pumpkin cake. She loved the experience and the cake, which we sen half of home with her. Then this morning, before taking her home, we all went to IHop so she could have a Mr. Mummy pancake.

State Fair freebie

By the time you read this, I will be in the warm, salt treated pool doing physical therapy. Assuming nothing else happens, of course. At home my husband will be talking with a man coming out to inspect the foundation. Early Monday morning I woke to cries of "Help!" Heart pounding I followed the sound to the kitchen where my husband was standing in a pool of hot coffee and shattered glass. Especially bad as he insists upon walking around with bare feet. He had been drying a heavy Corningware glass bowl when it slipped and hit the coffee carafe. The bowl didn't break but the 3/4 full carafe sure did. Took us a while to clean up the big mess. What was he most worried about? Where the spare carafe was! The man can't do without his coffee. Tuesday I went to lunch with my group, taking along my husband's handmade aspen wood cane. Big chunky thing made for big man. But I was a bit shaky walking and worried about being able to get up from chair at Olive Garden. Lunch went well with a moritorium on politics since previous time (I wasn't there) there had been quite a ruckus. After lunch I had a good long talk with my friend, Steph, and benefitted much from that. Wednesday I spent rangling an appointment with my gastroenterologist whose schedule, I'd been told, was super booked. I'd been calling back and forth, leaving messages with her nurse about the problems I'm having (yes, everything is happening at once) and today was finally given an appointment for Friday morning. And that's my week so far. I'm happy to hear you are enjoying State Fair. And I really appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers during this crazy health crisis. More of State Fair freebie

What's a State Fair, Carnivale, Festival without delcious "junk" food. One much favored item is funnel cakes, which I totally forgot to include. Oops! So more backgrounds and lots of food today.
Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d1ghxx75fsbijjy/ws_StateFair_2.zip?dl=0 Gloomy outside today which matches my mood. Just when I thought I was beginning to see a little improvement, I had another accident. Went grocery shopping in high spirits yesterday with plans for things I'd do when I got home. Didn't go that way. I just can't manage to get up from a seated position without something to hold onto or push up from. I'll save a lengthy, embarassing story and just say I required help from paramedics to get up from the floor. They wanted to take me to ER but other than bruised knees and ego, some sweat and tears, I had no injury and knew there wasn't anything the ER would do for me. Once up, with my shopping cart for support, I finished shopping, checked out and accepted help from an employee to load stuff into my car. Did not accomplish another thing. I'm typing this up on Sunday. With the help of my husband who chopped all the veggies for me, I'll make a hearty beef stew today. Will at least do some picking up. Thank you all for kind comments and wishes for better health,

New Freebie- State Fair

Let's end the week with something new & colorful. This time of year - before Covid that is - there used to be all sorts of Fall festivals, State Fairs, and such. Thinking of the fun children & adults had at these events inspired this kit, State Fair. Of course, I haven't covered all the rides, amusements and goodies but I've tried to give you a fair amount of each. There won't be a preview for each zip just an overall preview (Which doesn't show everything). There are 16 papers and 44 elements. For the most part, each zip will include both papers & elements, but one zip is just a few papers that are large sized. In short, each zip will be a State Fair themed surprise. Today zip 1:

A little something

I know I've been gone a long while. Had my first (& I pray only) bout of diverticulous and was on 2 antibiotics. My doc wasn't impressed with MRI results. Said the good news is that no tumor was shown on my spine and I don't have significant narrowing of spine. Still having trouble with weakness etc. Now I am going to physical therapy to see if it is just a matter of deconditioning. First day in the gym for evaluation and the PT guy (owner) was concerned. Simple exercises were wearing me out & in one case causing more pain. He decided to put me back into aqua therapy to see how much that heps. Thursday he was my instructer and it went pretty well. So next week I will have traction to see if it help my neck and then back to pool on Thursday. Halloween is fast approaching and while I had no intention of doing another Halloween kit, I managed to pack up a few things for the store for $1 items. Thought you might like these papers I put in the store:
