December Girls

I'm certain by now you think I've forgotten you. No, it has just been a December I'd like to forget. Lots going on around here and, thinking it would be a quiet time, I'd signed up to host 4 challenges this month.I knew we wouldn't be getting any company because 1) my son & DIL had gone to Aruba for their December birthdays and wouldn't have more time off for Christmas; 2) Our grandson and his wife were expecting their second child, scheduled to be born 12/16; 3) My stepson, Eric, was due to have back surgery 12/1. So it would just be the two of us. To catch up, here's what happened: 1) As soon as Jeremy & Berkeley arrived in Aruba, she lost her passport! Other than that he took some great photos and they seem to have had a good time. 2) Our great grandson required induction and about 24 hours before making his appearance. He was named Riley Edward much to my husband's disappointment. He had wanted the baby named after him. 3) Eric had hs surgery and for two days after I went to the hospital to sit with him until his wife got off work. He was doing well but the day before he was to be released, his wife dislocated her ankle and broke her tibia! Had to wait about two weeks for surgery. They are quite fortunate in that her work family offered lots of help via donations and a meal train. The two insisted that for the most part they were able to take care of themselves. I've had a bad spell of chronic fatigue syndrome plus elevated neck pain. Eric had been helping in past with a few things that are difficuly for me to do, now it was all me again. I can't even put my husband's socks over his badly swollen feet so we can't put his shoes on nor can he be taken anywhere. Yes, we've both had the blues off and on but it will be alright. Holidays are worse for that anyway as we remember people we've lost and so forth. Had my doubts about ever finishing the last of the Birthday Girls kits but I did finish. I ended up splitting December Girls into 2 kits - Traditional - turquoise and Contemporary - tanzanite. I'm going to give you both now.
