Autumn Attitude

Hard to believe it is mid September already! While it might be officially Autumn, here in coastal Virginia we are still having hot days and there is little of the changing color in foliage seen in more northern states. I'm looking forward to cooler weather, hoping that with it I'll have more energy and be able to accomplish more. It continues to remain a blue sort of year. My husband turns 73 tomorrow and has had the blues today due to his inability to do the things he used to do. He has realized his condition will not improve and worries about how this is impacting me. Pain is a constant now and about the only thing that gives him relief is sleep, once he can fall asleep. My ex-husband is heading to Florida to do preliminary work towards starting proton therapy for his cancer. Meanwhile my son, Jeremy, is realzing that we won't be around forever. Naturally, although he tries to keep up a positve outlook, he is worried about his father and he is also concerned about his step-father's health. Our grandson too is recognizing that his Papa is winding down. We all know these things are inevitable but that doesn't stop us from feeling sad. The bright note lately has been our great-grand-daughter, Taylor, who is progressing nicely and whose little smile lightens our hearts. At four months old, she now recognizes us even though she doesn't see us often. It is so cute to watch her turn in the direction of her Daddy's voice to see where he is. Definitely Daddy's girl. Football season is officially here. At grandson's suggestion, we decided to watch the first Washington game (His team. Husband's is the Steelers) together. Tyler pulled out his smoker and cooked a big pork shoulder and brought it over. We supplied the sides. And to top things off, he left the rest of that big pan of pork here for us to continue enjoying. We had some again the next night and I froze the rest to work into meal plans later.
That's Tyler cooking. Scrapped with the new kit I have for you called Autumn Attitude. Today I have the first zip of papers and first zip of elements. In next couple days I will post the last zip of papers and th other two zips of elements. Sure hope you like it.

Happy to hear your family is rallying around the two of you with love and support. Don't know how I would handle aging up with out that support!
Tyler looks to be a wonderful BBQ chef. My mouth started watering.

Prayers to continue for pain relief for both you and your husband. To know God is with you and sees all. Lean on Jesus for support to get you through these tough times. I think He gave me my granddaughter to see promise in the future. She brings me such joy.

My Vikings are off the a terrible start to the season. I bleed purple so I will stick with them.

Thank you for the super cute kit. I love the little gnome. You are an amazing artist!

Thank you for nice comments Kristy. I'm so happy you are still following me. I read that you are caring for both your parents now and I am keeping you in my prayers. I know how hard that is and my heart goes out to you. Your friend in Virginia.
